JUST AMAZINGLY YUMMY! I found a piece of rusty "something" on the ground, while walking down the road. It was shaped like a feather!

Kory, I LOVE this look and the technique seems simple and to the point. Thank you so much, for this really simple technique, that looks so much more involved! And for this demo, you just used copy paper, correct? Thanks so very much, Kory!

Thank you Lynn. Yes, I used copy paper. Oops, I should’ve said that in the video. Happy paper creating! ☺️

This is a really cool process. Do you know how well these will hold up over time? The fact that most archival materials are acid free makes me wonder what effect adding the acetic acid (vinegar) has on the paper over time. Also does the color continue to change over time? I'm guessing that if these were incorporated into a larger piece using something like acrylic medium to fully encapsulate them, it may delay or negate some of the effects.
@KorysArtCafe

Great question! I haven’t seen the paper change or degrade over time. When I collage stuff like this, I go over top with matte medium to seal it. You may have some issues, I don’t know for sure. I scan papers like this, so I can print them at a later time if needed. I get it though, there’s nothing like the originals. I haven’t had any problems. ☺️

I just found your channel and I LOVE it! Quick question - does the acrylic paint seal your rusty bits so they no longer rust your substrates? I adore rust. My husband and grandson bring me rusty bits all the time. It is better than Christmas!
@KorysArtCafe
@KorysArtCafe Жыл бұрын
Thank you Tammy! I adore rust too! The paints are really watered down, but yes, it can block some of the rust.

I love this finished look but I’m just a bit curious to know whether the acrylic paint adheres to your rusty pieces?
@KorysArtCafe
@KorysArtCafe Жыл бұрын
Great question Sky Queen! Yes they do. When you water them down to an inky consistently, they color the rusty bits, but only slightly. Plus I haven’t had any problems reusing them for more rust. They of course also make fabulous embellishments. ☺️

Kory's Thanks for this demo realy enjoyed the beautiful outcome, My question is do you clean the rusted items after the paints has dried, if so how?
@KorysArtCafe
@KorysArtCafe Жыл бұрын
Thank you Charie. No, I just put them in a pan, and keep re-using them. You can accumulate some dust so it’s wise to always wear a mask and gloves. Plus I also stay current on my tetanus shot just to be safe.

Thx Patti! I used printer paper on these. Thick enough for good prints, thin enough for collage.

@KorysArtCafe

On these I just used average printer paper. Nothing expensive or fancy. The key is waiting for them to dry because they can tear easily when wet. ☺️🎨
