Thanks for your comment. Select the Path and press CTRL + J to join any broken paths and make sure to arrange the path in front of Image and then try again.

Thanks for your comment. Here you go: In menu click on Object > Expand. A dialog box will be shown, check on Object & Fill, hit Ok and you're done with converting the text to outlines which was altered with Envelope Distort's Edit Content...

After clipping mask, why can't I move the image around? When I click on the text, the text gets move around, not the image :((

Thanks. Didn't work for me 100% though, but between your video and the comments, I was able to figure it out. I followed the steps (I thought) to the best of my ability but first I got the path error message (I double-checked to see if my text was outlines) then after I followed the remaining steps, after I did the clipping mask, my image disappeared. I don't know why, but I ended up pressing the mask button and inverting it. I got the effect I was looking for. Thanks again. Your video definitely helped get me the effect I was looking for.

I get an error when I try to make Clipping mask at 1:25. It says: "Can't make clipping mask. The top selected object must be a path, a compound shape, a text object, or a group of those" Please help!

You'll need to make a Compund Shape out of the single letters. Just create a text and follow the instruction from 0:29 to 1:05.

Hello, this video was very helpful. I had a couple of questions, could this be made for print ready? I have a bn20 and I notice when I imtrace the image it comes out more like a cartoon form then like the actual picture, so when I print the image its not quite as good, Also After I do the clipping mask the image I put in the text doesn't move, it stays put. I can't adjust the image in the text. do you know why?

Thanks for your comment. 1. Make sure you have a high resolution picture at 300 dpi to get it printed well. It should work well on prints. 2. You have to use Direct Selection Tool (A) to select the image and move inside text OR you can do this in Isolation Mode. Hope this helps.

@@visualfilmworks Thanks for your comment. Yes, you can do this. Here you go: 1. Follow the steps in the video, after making Compound Path (Ctrl+8) of the text outline. 2. Create an object (rectangle, circle, etc.) that you want the text to cut out from. 3. "Send To Back" the new object behind text object. 4. On Pathfinder panel, click "Minus Front". 5. Now, if you place any image and follow the steps of clip masking in the video, you'll have the text see through (transparent) from the image.

This would be way more useful if you spoke. Most that watch tutorials are trying to follow at the same time so visual and audio works best. I would never recommend this tutorial, in fact school was using it and I chose to find another video to help. It is a clear view of the screen but overall not helpful.

@@Creativealys I had to do it like 15 times and it finally worked, I have ZERO idea what made it FINALLY work other than the clipping-mask button at the bottom of the layers panel doesn't work; it only worked when I used the menu option.. and even then on the 4th try
