When it comes to flexibility with routines, I came across a video a while ago (I think it was by Rowena Tsai, but I'm really not sure) that talked about routines for different energy levels. For example, for my morning routine I have this ideal routine that I'd like to follow every day, but sometimes it's just not realistic. So for days when I have low energy and motivation I just do the most important parts (get out of bed, brush my teeth, make myself a simple breakfast) because that's way better than just not doing anything at all. My brain is very much all-or-nothing, meaning I either follow my routine perfectly or I abandon it entirely for the day and it lowkey ruins my day. So I remind myself that it's okay to just follow my low energy morning routine because that's way better than just staying in bed and going back to sleep and eventually waking up and feeling horrible.

Hi Holly, I love planning and structure too but sometimes unexpected things happen. Especially in my job. How do you deal with that? I'm afraid too much structure doesn't leave room for coping with unexpected events.

the first 10 minutes of all my runs is a warm-up pretty much! i don't really do a proper warm-up or drills, because i've never made it a habit (oops 😅), but as i said, i always start my runs a bit slower!

I actually turned off the option to snooze my alarm. If I really want to I simply set a new one in the morning for a later hour, but I rarely do that. Snoozes kind of annoy me as the alarm goes off again haha
