That was a great tutorial! I like your teaching style. I would like to use this for an arrangement that I do weekly. If I had some kind of a container or urn that I could actually sit the wreath in water, could I then get more life out of it or would the wreath start falling apart?
@LifeinBloom5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely- the real issue for making this more long lasting is to have a water supply- so placing the wreath in a container that will be able to hold water- and replenish the water ... is key- You could enjoy it much long. No the wreath will not start to fall apart... using the technique with the anchor tape I explain in the video will prevent any degrade in the wreath base! Thanks for the great question! And thanks for subscribing to my channel!

Soaking the Flower Foam Wreath Ring... takes about 2-3 minutes... the tape I wrapped around the wreath frame is there to help insure it will not break when moving... it's an important step and it makes it much more stable... I do hope those answers help... have a flower filled day!

Then I have a class at the Field to Vase Event in Seville Florida at FERNTRUST on November 18... and then Dallas Texas... I give a hands on design seminar Thursday- Friday and Saturday- and then a Class on Saturday- for Care and Handling and Mechanics... at the Dallas Market Center - January 18-19-20.... The hands on demos are Free to Attendees... and the class on Saturday is $125! Hope this is helpful... I get to Austin every now and then... and usually give classes in conjunction with my Events at Local Wholesale Florists... *Southern Floral Company... ask them to have me come visit... heheh!

Hi lovely arrangement, just wondering how long would this last? How would you top up the water? Why do you have to tape the oasis and could you use different colour flowers? Thanks
@LifeinBloom7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions Judith.... Allow me to address the answers... the answers to your questions are also mentioned in the video presentation...I hope you find the answers helpful... Water Supply- Because of the limited water resource... about 18 hours out of the cooler... (this is stated in the video)... Note- There is no way to top off the water... thus the reference in the video about this project only being for special events... not for a long lasting presentation... Tape on Oasis Wreath Ring- I taped the oasis (again stated in the video)... to prevent the great number of insertions from damaging or breaking the foam apart... Flower colors... you can create it in any color that you wish.... I used the white in the video but also mentioned that you could do your project in any color that you wish... Hope these answers are helpful... I appreciate the comments and questions... Have a flower filled day!

The Types of flowers are detailed in the video- that's the great thing about KZbin you can watch the shows again and again... Starting at 7:00 approximately is the placement of the flowers- 1 bunch of Open White Gladiolus, One Bunch of Long Myrtle, One Bunch of White Snapdragons- 10 Stems of White Standard Mums (Football Mums), 2 bunches of White Stock, 1 bunch of Leatherleaf, 5 stems of Open White Oriental Lilies, 12 stems Open Polar Star Roses, 1 bunch of White Mardi Gras Spray Asters is what was used in this arrangement... I hope that is helpful... I always encourage our viewers to keep a note pad handy during watching- so that you can pause the video and make notes for yourself... it's a great way to get the most out of each video... Have a flower filled day...

I wish these vids showed a date when they were made. I don't know if I will get an answer but Here Goes: I would worry that the perimeter foam ring might slip off of the urn. Can you secure it in any way... Like with Cling or something. I know it's heavy but still... Otherwise, this is absolutely amazing. Thank you!
@LifeinBloom6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment- although the videos were created a few years back- I still use this technique frequently- the weight and attribution to the urn - keep the wreath form secure! Rest assured this technique is reliable secure and trustworthy- when you follow the directions in the video!!!

Tx. Love this, but as for mechanics, what's going to hold that arrangement to the urn? One swish of a dancer, waiter, kids or bad delivery person and it would crash down. Suggestion?
@LifeinBloom8 жыл бұрын
In the video we discuss using double faced tape... but because of the construction of the back of the wreath frame... it actually fits snuggly inside the urn... thus the reason for not using a FLAT TRAY on top of an urn... Also I would suggest that it's not placed on the middle of a dance floor... or atop a high column... in any case... a clumsy person would topple any arrangement in that situation... not just this one exclusively... As stated in the video... I've used this at 100's of events... usually on the altar or at the front of the wedding ceremony, middle of tables in a recptionhall.... I've NEVER placed on a dance floor... hehehe! In addition..... when setting up... and practicing the arrangement... something I always suggest... you will see how the process works... It works quite well... and you will notice that different urns work better than others... based on their design and relationship to the wreath form backing... others have secured with florist clay as well... and weighted the urn... There is much to be considered... and good questions... thanks for sharing...

Contents can differ for each project- depending on the size of the wreath- and what colors, flowers or look you are creating... that being said... I used full bunches - for this project... And when you watch the video- I tell how many of each of the flowers I have used... so watching it several times- or starting and stopping will allow you to make a list... But if you don't want to do that... here is the list again... 2 Bunches of White Gladiolus- 20 Stems 1 Bunch of Myrtle - 10 stems 1 Bunch of White Snapdragons - 10 Stems 1 Bunch White Standard Chrystanthemums- 10 Stems 2 Bunches of White Stock- 20 Stems 1 Bunch Victoria Leather Leaf- 25 Stems 1 Bunch White Casa Blanca Lilies - 5 Stems 1 Bunch Polar Star Roses- 25 Stems 1 Bunch of Mardi Gras Spray Aster- Or 2 Bunches of Regular Spray Aster.... There you have it... you can use different types of flowers- and get different results... I hope that is helpful- and thanks for subscribing to my channel!
