Great question. I am creating a white stroke ON TOP OF the vector underbase object. Since the stroke is just a plain white, then it chokes the Pantone underbase by 1/2 point. The key is to make sure your outline is set to lay above your fill color. Hope this helps!

Great stuff, James! Great to see you doing some tutorials! Wish you added how to trap the black in this one! Great stuff....keep up the great work!

excellent vid, but I am confused on something. Let's use the corel section of the video: You add a 1 pt stroke to the part of the image you want underbased. Doesn't this make the underbase 1pt wider all around of the image you are creating the underbase for? I thought for choking you wanted to make the underbase smaller than the part of the image that requires an underbase. Can you please shed some light on this? What you are doing I'm sure is correct, but I can't wrap my brain around it.

Christie DuBreuil depends what program you are using and what version you are using... I'm not sure if they changed it in CorelDraw X5 or newer.

This isn't correct as adding a stroke to the underbase layer will print be adding a 1pt stroke outside of your top layer. This will ONLY work if your black is trapping your colors.
