My only concern is heat damage. Otherwise love this technique.
@samvillahair10 жыл бұрын
Always use a heat protectant spray. I recommend Redken Iron Shape 11. Remember to stay in control of the heat ... turn the iron down! 400°+ is not necessary. Set your iron at 392° (safe for color treated hair) or below and slow down. Good luck and thanks for the comment!

HI sam.. Luv ur techniques. my problem is I have to heavy frizzy hair. Every time I have iron or blow dry hair after wash. Could you plz suggest what is less damaging blow dry or ironing? As I dont wana end up damaging my hair. Thanks Tc.
@samvillahair10 жыл бұрын
Hi Mala, As I am unable to see your hair and it is difficult for me to recommend the correct solution for you, so here is what I suggest based on your information: Whether your hair is naturally curly or wavy or straight, it is important that you use a styling aid prior to your blow dry. This will not only protect your hair from the heat of the dryer but also assist in straightening your hair in the process - I recommend Redken Align 12 protective smoothing lotion: www.redken.com/products/styling/smooth-hair-styling-products/align-12-protective-straightening-lotion Place an amount appropriate for your thickness and length - about a nickel size or more if needed - rub the product into your hands and evenly distribute throughout your hair. Blow dry in sections beginning with the back nape area. Dry each section thoroughly with a medium to large boar bristle brush - the boar bristles will evenly distribute your hairs' natural oils and aid in shine and less frizz. If you do not dry each section thoroughly, you hair will succumb to frizz even more. Once the hair is completely dry and smooth you can curl it with a curling iron or straighten it with a flat iron - my Sleekr Flat Iron will work wonders for you! (www.samvilla.com/products/hair-irons/sleekr-straightening-iron/) Once again, it is important for you to use a styling aid for the iron process and you are going to iron section by section just as in the blow dry. The product I recommend is Redken Iron Shape 11 heat protection spray: www.redken.com/products/styling/heat-styling/iron-shape-11-finishing-thermal-spray-heat-protection-hair-spray Hold the spray pump at least 6 inches away from each section and spray 1-2 times for each section and comb the product through the section. If you are using a flat iron, set the temperature to medium or high. Slowly pass the iron down each section - slow is key as if you take fast passes you are not utilizing the heat enough. Slow passes will give you the best end result as your hair will be shiny and the cuticle layer of the hair will lay flat. Finish your hair with a hair spray that is specifically designed to combat humidity, (which causes frizz). I recommend Redken Quick Dry 18 instant finishing hair spray: www.redken.com/products/styling/hairsprays/quick-dry-18-instant-finishing-hair-spray OR Redken Control Addict 28 extra high hold hair spray: www.redken.com/products/styling/hairsprays/control-addict-28-high-control-hairspray I would also recommend shampoo, conditioner and treatments for your hair type. Check out this Redken link to view products recommended for your hair type: www.redken.com/your-hair-profile/ Once again, as I could not see your hair I based my recommendations on your information. I hope I have helped you today, Mala! Let us know if we can assist you further and thanks for your support!

I wouldn’t really encourage the client to use a straightener all the time, she’s gonna do it three times a week at least ... after a few months : totally ruined hair - and before any one tells me about heat protection - it’s not real!- ps I love Sam and his work just not this
