I used your technique today and it is hands down the fullest, poufi-est my hair has been using a flat iron-EVER!!! I have very thin hair and always feel like when I flat iron it, it just makes it look that much thinner. Today I feel like I have a thick head of hair!! Thanks for your awesome tutorial.

I work for a salon equipment distributor and ghd sent us their tool information documents for us to review. The ghd tools don't have heat settings because they are literally hard-wired NOT to heat above 365 degrees F! 365 degrees is the optimal temperature to style your hair without damaging the cuticle. ghd (which stands for Good Hair Day) wants your hair to stay healthy while being styled! Great video! : )

Your channel is my new hair favorite...I'm 66 with the same style and length, only difference is I have wavy and silver. After years of air drying only, I just replaced my T3 and GHD with Zuvi.

Hi! I am curious to know- how do some people manage to have their hair blow dried almost everyday and still keep it looking healthy? Is it not supposed to dry your hair out in the long run?
@joyfuljaj5 жыл бұрын
this is my second video tonight. I was already doing a lot of your blow dry tips, but had never applied as much root lifter. That and the flat iron pulled straight out from the head I am going to try. Also the cooling the hair after blow drying it forward. I am slowly working on effectively using product as I have very fine and oily hair and cannot stand the feel of a lot of product on my head.
@shellylafleur74567 жыл бұрын
I have to say thank you. I don't often run out and buy things I see recommended by KZbinrs, but I did go out and find a bottle of the L'Oreal blow dry primer. This is a $3.97 bottle of pure goodness. It works! I have thick, course hair that takes forever to blow dry. It seriously cut down on my drying time this morning. Thank you so much for this tip.

I just watched a vid for Sam Villa and the fella mentioned a great technique for a little life/body for your hair while flat-ironing. Make your sections diagonally rather than horizontal. Also, he mentioned it is not good to use anything sticky before flat-ironing as it will damage your hair. I hope these tips help you and others :)

I've spent years perfecting my "faux blowout" routine and I have to say it's very similar to your tutorial. Except I also take small sections on the very top of my head and give a couple quick passes with my flat iron at the roots only (making the roots pretty hot) then I just lay the hot hair over a giant Velcro roller and hit it with the cool setting of my blow dryer for like 15 seconds. I only using like 5 rollers.
@joyfuljaj5 жыл бұрын
i do something similar with a big round brush when i'm trying to quickly lift and smooth out some cowlicks. I rarely take time to section my hair for the best round brush blowout but at least fake it a bit with the flat iron and brush.

I used to have a flat iron I loved that had a steamer button & detangling teeth on its plate. This was to detangle & smooth with anti frizz effect as it straightened. Maxi-Glide was its name. Also helps to not just apply root boosters but a heat protectant on the lengths of the hair, to keep the high temps from frying it!!
@tangled69317 жыл бұрын
Your hair looks great! Well done tutorial. How does the result differ from using a large round brush at the final blow dry stage? I have straight hair also and have never tried a flat iron because i thought it was used to straighten curly hair. I dry my hair 90% of the way in the same fashion as you and then finish with a very large round brush to get the result you get and I finish much faster. What am I missing?

This was a fantastic tutorial! I followed the tutorial, and it totally worked for me! I got lots of comments on how nice my hair looked for the next few days! (I only wash my hair every 3-4 days, so I left it straight for a few days after this, and it held up really well!) Thanks Kate! =)

I resonate so well with the way you describe your hair and I suffer since I can remember that I can't put some volume in my hair... I have quite a lot of question :p but I hope to get a feedback just for two: 1. How do you manage to use the flat iron and still have your hair so healthy, I'm thinking to buy one but I'm afraid I'll make a mess out of my hair... 2. Could you recommend me a very light easy to handle blow dryer? I'm thinking of the new Harry Josh blow dryer but the price is insane and I am not sure it is worth it... Many thanks!!

Is there a secret to getting your hair to look more silky/shiny? Yours looks so smooth even just after a blow-dry. I feel like mine always has rogue hairs sticking up and looks kind of rough and not shiny. I'm not sure if it's just changed with age.

The best way to volumise hair is to use hair straighteners with large Velcro rollers. After straightening a section put it in a roller until you’ve done the whole head. The hair will cool being lifted away from the scalp. Remove the rollers and comb and spray lightly with Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine. You will have a lovely thicker looking head of hair.

I came across a very beautiful young lady who had some really neat beauty tips. Long story short, I stopped watching youtube so much ... college, career, etc., but, been back lately tuning in again, and stumbled across you today, and here you are saying that you did a hair video YEARS ago, and it's just occurred to me that YOU could be the one I've been wanting to find again.
