Hey men, great tutorial but I feel that is necessary to have more information. I mean, I,d really like to see something similar to the image that you used for advertising this tutorial.

You could go a step further and animate the positional value of the texture and the particles will follow, so drops running down the surface of a bottle. You could even animate that texture in After Effects and plug in the animated texture sequence into the emitter for movement. Particles aside, you could actually create an alpha mapped displacement map from a similar image and hand animate the map, so many ways to do things in Maya. Cheers Mike

This would be far more helpful if I could see your mouse cursor. I cannot see where you are clicking, so I am left to guess what part of the screen you are referencing when you describe what you are doing. I don't like having to search constantly for what menu pops up or what selection happens. Also, it's not very informative. Yes, the technical aspect of attaching a particle system to a surface and mapping it to a texture is handy, but has little or nothing to do with water droplets. The final outcome of this video is NOT what was shown in the video thumbnail.

What is the best way of getting that foggy, wet texture on a cold glass bottle? I feel like water drops aren't enough to achieve this look. Would a roughness map work maybe?

I would use a transparent material, ouch the refraction on it, and then apply an alpha map

Same way I did it recently... I tried figuring out how to make the droplets run down and merge here and there, but only got as far as getting the droplets to run and streak but the whole merging with other droplets part seems a bit more difficult.

Interesting method of creating water droplets ... it hurts that Maya does not have a "meta-ball" creation tool, because maybe ..., the drop shape could be generated with them and later animate them .. help of gravity or a simple animation ... right ...? This type of tutorials, make the imagination fly ... As a suggestion, I would like you to continue uploading tutorials of particle systems for crowds (flocks of birds ... etc), fluids ..., fire ..., explosions ... or demolitions ... and all those demonic things and chaotic that allow the systems of particles and that are so cool ..., and complex ..., if you had the possibility ..., thanks for the tutorials and un saludo.

Also in terms of bifrost realism? Does it all boil down to voxel size? I'm trying to make water look... "not sticky" :) but so far, most people on YT seems to settle for the not comletely realistic type of water. Probably due to rendertime... :(

S.... only for modeling.... Not for texturing Not for lighting And not for rendering (heavy scenes takes lots hours to render ) *You need best graphic card at least go with gtx 1060 or 1660ti
