I wanted to try generating Japanese podcast with it using the same input as you did (just replacing Italian to Japanese). First I used a Hungarian news video from youtube, then a Japanese wikipedia page, but both times it generated the podcast in a (at least for me) gibberish language. I mean it was apsolutely not Japanese, it sounded maybe a little like Chinese, but I'm not sure if it was any real language.

It still has a problem with some language but I am sure it will get better and better in the coming weeks and months!

@@LucaLampariello I quickly tried it with Croatian last night, and it sounded like a mix of Croatian and Japanese (it was weird), a few hours ago (over 12 hours later) I tried it again, and the Japanese sound in it had disappeared, so I'm taking that as a sign that the AI is slowly learning how to pronounce the Croatian language (fingers crossed).

Lampariello, I'm learning english and I can understand the entire context of your videos without subtitles, but I still usually use subtitles for native content. Do you recommend that I fully immerse myself by watching native content without subtitles or still use subtitles?
@cassiechan-9815 күн бұрын
I watch native content the first time with subtitles in my native language (english), a second time with subtitles in the language I'm learning (pausing to take notes of words or phrases that I think I'd use), and a third time without any subtitles to see how much I can understand. Depending on how that goes, I may or may not rewatch the video the following day.
@LucaLampariello15 күн бұрын
In my humble opinion, subtitles is a fantastic tool to understand what you are watching, so use them as much as you want! To this day, I still always watch movies, KZbin videos or documentaries with subtitles (no matter the language).

The longer the audio, the more glitches start to appear. Listening to Project 2025 as a Podcast was a surreal experience at 45 minutes. Some issues such as repetition, vocal interjection cutoffs remove the reality, but they keep pretty tight with the material. Actually, it brought to home the breadth and speed of Project 2025 no opinionated media has done. It has the facility to make the terrifying into sounding reasonable, but I came out feeling informed yet not without any appreciation of the consequences of Project 2025. That requires a different upload. By coincidence, I had already been downloading KZbin transcripts into Chat-GPT for summarising and fact checking (as much as one cade do). This tool makes that exponentially more powerful.

@@LucaLampariello I appreciate the follow up. I tried copying your prompt: Create a podcast at my level (A2) in Korean and Create a podcast at my level (A2) in Spanish. That's pretty cool for people who can't read for the life of them and only absorb information from audio materials. If you want to simply dumb down a text to match your level, I'm pretty sure other text-based ML tools already do that. Not super sure what to use this tool for, tbh
@LucaLampariello16 күн бұрын
Agreed! I believe that reading is still the best way to absorb information, but why not reading AND listening to podcasts? One thing does not exclude the other
@Limemill15 күн бұрын
@ I guess you’re right, but I still think it mostly benefits those who are auditory learners. Unfortunately for me (and people like me), I advance in leaps and bounds when I read, even way above my level, but I can totally spin my wheels for months when I mostly listen and watch (and expect to get something out of it, that is). To me, the best use of audio and video materials is training one's listening comprehension and, indirectly, speaking. But I do know people who acquire information better from TV shows than from books
