This is a Beautiful design! So many knitted/or crocheted baby clothes can unfortunately look a little tacky somehow, prob due to Acrylic yarn used though..trust me, Acrylic yarns RUIN knitting and crochet as they photo well and bright but feel rough and look ugly and flat in real life whereas 100% wools have a beautiful halo and softness thats indescribable.. I've just started drop spinning too and the feel of a freshly brushed wool top is, its like a cloud!! Indescribibly soft and lovely. You will NEVER come across that texture in store bought clothing! Sounds crazy, but its true.

Would I be able to start out using foundation half double crochet stitches instead of a chain? How would I increase on the following row? thanks
@HappyBerryCrochet8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could swap the first chain row and hdc row for foundation stitches, then skip to row 2 for your increase. It will work out the same :)
@Thegoldynladee8 жыл бұрын
+HappyBerry Crochet thanks I always wondered when you can use the foundation chain stitch. thanks for the response . I love the sweater and look forward to crocheting it for me baby due in September!!
@HappyBerryCrochet8 жыл бұрын
You can pretty much use it anytime in replace of chains, if the next row is sc, use the sc foundation, if its hdc, use the hdc foundation and so on. It should technically be exactly the same. :) I love the foundation stitch, and normally would use it for such a project as it gives a softer finish, but I wanted to make this tut for beginners as well so thought best to stick to chains :)
