Wow! I'm 61 and every time I saw one of your videos I thought I was watching a young 20 something woman. It is not that you just look young, but you have a young spirit. You are full of color and fun. Of course, for someone my age, you are far braver in your style choices than here in the deep, deep South, but in your part of the country, there is much more freedom to be 20 when you are 40. Happy belated birthday! You do not look 40 at all!!! Let me tell you that I truly appreciate the fact that you are so perfectionist to make your work look nice. Although things in life are not perfect, striving for perfection produces quality work with the least flaws. This is why I enjoy your patterns so much because the finished project always looks great and very close to the original object. I would like to offer a humble suggestion with the “invisible decrease” and please correct me if I’m wrong. Since pretty much all the decreases are invisible (this is the part where I might need correction), why not just call it simply “dec” and “dec-3” for your special decrease. The reason I say this is because I do get thrown off in some patterns, not just yours but others too, with the “inv” by my brain wanting to call it “inverse”…lol! But I’ve seen other patterns where they just call it “inc” and it seems much easier to read. Pretty much everybody knows the “increase (inc) and decrease (dec). Just my two cents, but I truly appreciate and love your work. Also, thank you for being such a sharing and kind of person, its truly inspiring. A big hug to you!!!

Hi! Thanks for the sweet message and the thoughtful comments! I think that "Dec" does not always imply "inv dec." When I was learning to crochet, it looked like "Dec" was always sc2tog. So I think it's nice to point out which I feel works best for the project. "Dec" is just too open-ended to me, and even one of my crochet elves still works an sc2tog when I've put invdec in a pattern!

I get it now, thank you for the clarification! I thought all the decreases were invisible but I guess not, because instead of grabbing the two front loops, some projects may just grab two whole sc together and the decrease may not necessarily be invisible. Now I understand why you have to call it "inv dec". Thank you!

No problem! Yeah like, sometimes with projects worked in rows, I think the sc2tog looks better than the invisible decrease, cuz the invisible one leaves some un-invisible loops on one side.

On row 3 you state that there should be 34 count even though there was only 33 stitches. I do not understand this. No matter how many time I redo and recount I only get 33 for a count. So then the next row is 27 not 28. Please help

MMMmmmmmm that would alter things since I add and subtract stitches from the ends of rounds to keep all the increases and decreases in the right place. In the pattern in my Etsy shop, I offer a version of the pattern in joined rounds, but you turn after each round, and the pattern definitely changes a lot.

2 loops bleh, I roll it over and use the single loop on the bottom. That makes your beginning have 2 loops exactly like your last row you crochet, so the beginning and end look the same.

Are you referring to working into the foundation chain? I agree, working in the back "hump" always looks cleaner, but it can be really difficult for beginners.

I've written the pattern down while I watched the video tutorial, idk how exactly to put it , but this is not a heart shaped donut, I end up giving my resulted project to my naphews dog as his own first toy . I will not be doing this pattern again, so glad I didn't purchased it otherwise I'd have been really mad after the results and end up wasting 3$ for a pattern that doesn't look not even close to a heart shaped donut... very disappointed in the results that I came out with ..
