I love that your patterns make small animals! I like miniatures but also my health limits my time for making things. Also small finishes faster. So many patterns so little time. I finished my first amigurumi yesterday. I started it in January. It is about 9 inches tall. I mailed it to my youngest granddaughter today for her birthday. I quickly decided I will make a few patterns to get comfortable then start using thinner yarn and smaller hooks to make smaller creatures. I'm also excited by your how-to design series. I have a coaster started and on the last round. After that I think I will try this cute dragon. I started crocheting at 13 and taught myself from a book. I dropped it for a long time because I started quilting. My health changed and I now live in a recliner. Much of the time I have to reline so I limited to handwork. I discovered amigurumi at c'mas time in 2022. I have gotten the crochet hooks out and started amigurumi. I'm alternating with English paper piecing and embroidery. I'm 75 now and I want to make so many things. Small projects are fitting my lifestyle now. I just found your channel about a month ago. I'm very much enjoying you and your projects. I'm not always up to doing replies. I've subscribed and click like. Thanks!

Wow! Usually i stay away from KZbin patterns as I cant follow what is being done, but, this video is absolutely amazing! I did this with bernat blanket yarn and made my own wings (not that these aren't adorable), and it stands at roughly 6 inches tall- absolutely wonderful video! Very easy to follow! Thank you so much!

I've been making these little guys every since you posted the video. I have made a little adjustment to his eyebrows. FYI I crochet the first eyebrow into stitch #1 and the second one into stitch #6. I think it makes a cleaner face/eyebrow look. And once again I love this pattern also. Your a big hit here in New Mexico USA. Keep the patterns coming.

I've been looking around for wing patterns to get ideas for a simple little sprite creature I'm trying to make. This is the first one I've found so far that actually makes both wings so that one doesn't have to face backwards. With one of the other patterns, though, my brother figured out how to fix the problem by crocheting the second wing upside down. 😂 It's a little bit of a learning curve at first, but still easier to get a hold on than switching to the non-dominant hand! In my opinion😂😂

This is so cute. I do have a question though. What's the difference between a 2sc and an inc? I thought they were the same thing
@ComplicatedKnots Жыл бұрын
Hi! 2sc: put one sc into each of the next 2 stitches. Inc: put two sc into the same stitch Bonus round, "3sc in 1": three sc into the same stitch.

I'm not sure if it is just me, but when we got to the eyebrow ridges mine was of to the other side? I was following along correctly, counting my stitches and such, all where correct, but I'm not sure what went wrong. Because my closest nose loop with the one on the left. I had my 7 rows, all with the right stich count, how did I get to the other side? How do I fix this? Please Help TT

Planning on making some of these soon, really hoping to sell some through my local games and comics shop if that wouldn't be a problem for you (I know the Etsy says you don't sell finished products but I can't see more info on whether we can make to sell). Do you have any idea how much yardage these little guys take? I've always struggled with making ami projects so I don't know what's a reasonable budget - I'm hoping 100-200 yards will be enough for the body color, that'd be convenient for what materials I'm using.

Hey, I have a question for round 8, I keep following the instructions to get 12 stitches in the round, but I somehow end up each time with one stitch left over. Each time I counted the row before, there are 16 stitches in the round so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you!
@ComplicatedKnots Жыл бұрын
Hi! This row is a bit of a weird one! Let's break it down into steps, and look at how many stitches there are before and after we do each step. So there are 16 stitches as at the end of R7. It actually really helps that you've confirmed that! R8 starts with 2sc (so that's 2/16) Then we work a TrTr into the closest marked frontloop from the front, and we skip the next stitch in the round, which would be the stitch we would normally work into. (That's 3/16) You can mark the stitch you are skipping if it makes it easier to keep count, but we won't be working into it at any point. Then it's 2sc, (5/16). So at this point you have worked 5 stitches, and either used or skipped 5 stitches. Then we do another "TrTr into the closest marked frontloop, skip the next stitch in the round" (6/16). There should be 10 stitches left in your round to work into (between where you are and your starting point). 2sc, (8/16) sc3tog, (11/16, because each one of these stitches uses 3 stitches of our round) 2sc, (13/16) sc3tog (16/16, every stitch used) For a total of 12 stitches worked, using up all 16 stitches from R7. See if that helps, or let me know if you can tell which part of the row is causing the problem!

So I'm using 100% acrylic yarn, DK, but I always end up needing to stuff the parts you say not to stuff (this dragon's legs, the hermit crab's legs as well) because my pieces just don't stand up like yours do, and they look thinner, scrawnier. As if the yarn isn't *really* the same size as yours, but the packaging says it's DK. I'm using a brand called 'Melissa', and I have the impression that this yarn is just too soft to be used for plushies. Could you recommend a brand or two, or at least... I don't know, talk about how to recognize yarns that are good for these kinds of projects? I don't exactly have an awful lot of money to buy high-quality brand yarns... In the meantime, I guess I'll see if I get the desired result with a size 3 hook or even smaller...
@ComplicatedKnots Жыл бұрын
All yarn is a bit different, so will produce different results. There's never anything wrong with stuffing where necessary. Im using 4seasons Marvel, which is about $4 AUD per ball, so no need to spend a fortune! When looking for a yarn, I like my acrylic scratchy, and always use a hook size smaller than the label. This makes for smaller stitches and the scratchiness means there's a lot of friction in that stitch, holding it in place.
