I wonder, that you start with foundation-stitches at the bottom of the hat. i thought, you start at the tip of the hat with a tiny round (magic ring, cain-stitches, etc) and do just a few increases on your way to create a cone and switch to a flat circle icreasing pattern for the brim.
@HappyBerryCrochet4 жыл бұрын
Working bottom up gives you a sharper point as the hat is so small, but you can make it however you prefer! No rules 😊
@Drachenbauer4 жыл бұрын
@@HappyBerryCrochet Actually i make one from top to bottom, that´s slighly bigger than yours and i diveded the cone into two different increase patterns to bend the tip slightly to the backside. At first i made each round with two increases next to each other on the half of the way, until i reached a stitch count of 24. than i made a pattern with equal positionet increases until i reached a stitch count of 48. I made front post single crochets at the edge beteen cone and brim (the first round of the brim), so it´s also a sharp edge.. The brim gets 6 equal placed increases each round until a stitch count of 96. This hat is for an amigurumi-character, that i crocheted about a year ago. It´s Stella from angry birds, the classic round version. The biggest stitchcount of the body is 48. So the same stichcount at the base of the cone-part should work fine. I thought, i can finish it bevore halloween, got it takes longer, than i thought.

@HappyBerryCrochet2 жыл бұрын
You can use any yarn you like, this is a DK weight in UK, or Light Worsted in the US, or sometimes known as a yarn weight of 3

Could I just ask why you speak in the US terminology? I loved you videos but get very confused, as I'm English/UK terminology. This is not criticism. Sorry x
@HappyBerryCrochet9 жыл бұрын
+Specialcorners Connie Because that's just the way I role :)
@billie689 жыл бұрын
I have no issue with that, was just curious as to why, and to know if it's easier that way? As I'm still a beginner, and wondered if it's worth learning both Terminologys. Thanks tho x
@HappyBerryCrochet9 жыл бұрын
+Specialcorners Connie It depends on what you plan to do really, if you buy a lot of UK crochet books and magazines then learning UK terminology is probably best, but if you enjoy crochet via the Internet then US terminology is the way to go as it is more widely used. If you can, learning both is a huge advantage. Hope that helps :)
