I have discovered recently that bcoz arcrylic is made from a type of plastic, you can permanently "set" it with heat, such as an iron (under a towel unless you want it stuck to ur iron!!). It flattens the stitches but you can make things like masks for kids etc this way. That's why the candle melts away the fluffy bits - fantastic idea by the way!!! P.S it's called "killing" your yarn if anyone wants to search it up. There is a channel that does a good vid on it called Sheepishly Sharing 😃 & Tamara Kelly Moogly channel does a great vid explaining it too

I like the look of the rose better than anyone else I have viewed. Yet your rose takes alot of patience. Don't know if I could construct all the rose. But the rose turned out very beautiful and looks like a rose when you actually buy one. Thanks for your time. Maxine

What a clever way to make the crab stitch (reverse single crochet)! I have a hard time doing the crab stitch too!

I am so impressed on the technique and the way you describe everything to this point. SOOO simple to understand for a seasoned crocheter, so I imagine a beginner could get it as well. I can’t wait to start making this!!!

I hade to find it it´s so easy, I absolutely could not do it this way, but we all are different and have our own way or making things. The original way I was doing the edge for 40 mnt, seriously I have na RA, but the reverse single crochet 3 minutes, I love it. Btw when I brought the roses to my friend as a Christmas present, she thought it´s alive. It´s a gorgeous pattern.

Wouldn't using the candle also firm the stem up? As well as the rose petals, so once you join them into a rose they stay firm and keep their shape?

+Debbie Lurvey I know I've seen a video for very small flower tutorials but you could also try just not making the petals of the flower very big in the first place. I noticed that it only took a few rows before they started to take on the necessary shape. You may also consider making the roses using an even thinner material (ie, crochet thread or embroidery floss) and a smaller hook.
@2007queenmab
@2007queenmab 6 жыл бұрын
Just use a smaller crochet hook and finer yarn/thread. Will reduce the over all size.
