Took me a long time, you go so fast for a beginner and it was also hard to see where you were inserting your hook. Thank you for doing this video

This is an old video. Learning how to teach is part of this experience for me. I didn’t go to school to be a teacher. Not all my tutorials are beginner friendly. If they are I state that in the title. Good job not giving up and completing your snowflake! Thank you for watching!

Also, dear Dotti, Jonna has to presume you have purchased the pattern and the video supports the pattern to help crocheters follow the pattern. It's always good to read the pattern before viewing the video, and then view the whole video before even picking up your yarn and hook so you have a good idea where stitches go and what they look like. Then crochet along.

You can slow the speed which I do often. The instructor sounds drunk but it sure helps.

I bought my first crochet hook yesterday and made 3 of these today! The first one is wonky (my fault for being a newb), but the second and third came out perfectly! I'm blind and have trouble seeing the stitches in the video. I listened through once to get a good mental picture of what you were doing. Thank you for your video! I'd like to suggest something for others...I think it's a good idea for them that need to go slower, to watch the pattern first... maby jot down a note of the stitch on a notebook, then, rewind and follow. That way, you get the feel of the pattern before in your head and it may be easier as your following. Kinda like a preview. If you mess up...just start over, no big deal. That's what I do when I need to start slow on something I've never done before...( and I forget how to do a single crochet stitch all the time for some reason..?? (Guess I get rusty after a break for a month or so..??) Just a suggestion from one crocheter to another. Again, thank you for taking the time to teach us all a lovely ornament! Your a great teacher and I learned my first snowflake ever!! Yay!! Very Best Regards, Debra from Tx. 😊

I loved using this pattern and will be making many for christmas gifts!! I will say that my yarn might be thinner because this pattern made one that didn’t lay flat, so I made the chain loops 5 and 3 instead of 6 and 5, and then in the next round instead of chaining 2 between the sc into that 3 loop, i chained 1 and it lays flatter with that thinner yarn!! Lovely pattern thank you!

This was the perfect video I needed to create a snowflake to attach to a winter hat so the hat would coordinate with a scarf in the same yarn as the snowflake. Your instructions were excellent and your voice so pleasant; and I consider myself a beginner. Thank You!! I’ll be looking at your other projects as well. Happy, blessed New Year!

this is hard to follow, you don’t explain exactly what you’re doing sometimes and you use the wrong terms sometimes so i ended up not being able to do this because i couldn’t really understand

@@JonnaMartinezCrochet I had absolutely no problem following along with you and found that you explained everything thoroughly enough for my intermediate skill level, thank you! And I see in another comment where you already know that it's not a triple treble but just a regular treble, but watching you work it was obvious what you meant, so didn't trip me up and shouldn't really trip up anyone other than maybe an absolute beginner I don't think. I actually appreciate your quicker pace because so many videos are geared towards beginners (which is great, but can really drag on when you get past the beginner stage), so again, thank you!

I disagree, I started crocheting a few days ago and I was able to complete this! Plus I learned how to do a double crochet and triple treble thanks to her
@JonnaMartinezCrochet2 жыл бұрын
@Jenna Cowart, thank you so much! This is actually a treble, I had learned it from another crocheter who called it a triple. After I had already made this tutorial I learned it is only a regular treble. But cannot edit the video once it is uploaded. Hopefully others read my reply’s to comments to learn the proper name. It is in fact the correct way to make the stitch though. Thank you again, I hope you enjoy making snowflakes!

You go way way way too fast and miss a lot of details.

The beauty of youtube videos is that you can pause and/or go back to what you missed.

I found the pace fine, great video. I followed it once, then did the second one by memory.... And I'm not a very experience crocheter.

She may go fast but this pattern is probably not ideal for someone just starting to crochet so it’s going to be a little hard to follow.

In the settings, you will find the speed option. It lets you speed up or slow down. There's always rewind, too.

I tried to crochet a snowflake from a pattern in a magazine and I got stuck so I just googled how to crochet a snowflake and your video came up! Thank you so much, I'm still a beginner and have taught myself some basic stitches from a book. I live in the UK and I just wondered if American crochet stitch names are the same as UK ones? Anyway I managed to complete it from watching you, with many rewinds! Many thanks, it's for my daughter's birthday as an extra little something to hang on her Christmas tree. I've made it in turquoise as that's her favourite colour. I'm gonna make two more in white. I've also got some tiny sparkly beads which I will sew on using invisible thread. I liked the way you talked about it being prettier done in a certain way and your American accent was reassuring!

Very nice item ... your tutorial was spot on although a bit fast ... so easy to pause, rewind if need be. I'm going to try a 3 ply yarn to see if it appears more delicate. Thanks so much for the video.

I fought hard and now I am having the time of my life with round two. Seriously, this is like magic. I'm shaking with even thinking about round three but... Hieeeeee round two and it works! I know, i know but for someone who never in her life crocheted anything that looked like instructions were followed this is just glorious victory. Plus, I'm afraid I will fuel up views count here on this vid.

Even with just round two, I will have beautiful flower, and could sew a gorgeous baby blankie... Wee 💕

Update: I did it! It's crooked and I feel that somehow managed to create a one loop more than needed, but overall... It is snowflake. GIRLS, THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU! If I could do that, you will also can.

Fabulous pattern, easy to follow...I love making these. I've made some larger ones using Aran weight cotton for Coasters and I'm now trying with DK weight cotton and a smaller hook to make tree decorations. I'm gonna add a chain loop to hang and starch them...thank you 💞
