Great video and pattern! Just made a cute blue one and didn’t take too long. Pro tip: if you want the drawstrings to be the same colour yarn as the pouch, cut about 16-20 inches x2 strings of yarn before you start to avoid having to cut and rejoin yarn in the middle of your work

Great tutorial. I’m wondering what the advantage is of making 2 panels and joining rather than 1 wide panel I fold over?
@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
You could certainly do it that way, I just decided to do two panels for symmetry and to make it simpler to change the size of the pouch :)

My gauge ended up way different from yours, so I had to do 24 rows and probably would've preferred having 16 chains in my foundation. To fix it, I just added extra rows along the sides before I put the two panels together, but I'll get it right the first time on my next pouch! Thank you for sharing!
@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
Ohh yeah, gauge can make a big difference but this pattern is definitely easy to customize in terms of size so I'm glad you were able to find a workaround for your first pouch! I hope you enjoyed making it :)

Hi! @Dogwood Crochet US, may I kindly know if at 1:31 timestamp, how do I know where to insert hook? I feel like I started from the back then switched to front chain..I kept repeating since I can't straighten my sides...I'm thinking of adding one on each end of rows..thank you! >_>
@Dogwood.Crochet2 ай бұрын
Hi! At 1:31, you want to start crocheting into the same stitch that you just finished, so it might seem a bit awkward or bulky, but you will start it in the same stitch that you just finished. Hope this helps!

@@Dogwood.Crochet hi! :) Thank you for noticing my query. :) okay! Got it! :) is it an issue too that I made it 40chains instead of 10? I wanted it to be wider~
@Dogwood.Crochet2 ай бұрын
@@georgiasaruto 40 works! Just make sure you chain a multiple of 2 when you work the trinity stitch. :)
@georgiasaruto2 ай бұрын
@@Dogwood.Crochet I'm sorry for asking...is to chain a multiple of 2 means to make 2 chains before working the trinity stitch? and does it apply when on ending turn?
@Dogwood.Crochet2 ай бұрын
@@georgiasaruto oh good question! It just means that whatever your starting chain is, it should be a multiple of 2. So if you want to make a wider piece, you could chain any number like 20, 22, 24, etc. but if you chained 23 or 25, then that wouldn't work with the stitch pattern. You don't need to make any extra chains before working the trinity stitch or when turning. It just applies to that very first foundation chain. Does that make sense?

When you do your foundation chain of 10, do you count the initial chain on your hook as 1? I keep coming out with an extra chain at the end of the first row of trinity stitches.
@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
Make a slip knot (1 loop on the hook) and then count 10. So technically you will have 11 chains (but the one on your hook doesn't count). I hope this helps!

When she says this will be our last group of trinity stitches she must have stopped the video and skipped a whole set. I tried the 7 times before realizing what happened. It only shows her making 3 sets of trinity stitches but she really is making 4. @dogwood.crochet, you need to fix this. I think it’s what’s messing people up

@@Melmac8282 I thought I was doing something wrong but you might be right. I’m still really confused and I still have 10 stitches at the end of the first row. Boutta give up. This doesn’t feel like it’s for beginners if there are steps being skipped. I’ve spent way too long on this

@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
One thing I'm thinking is it is likely to lose or add stitches with the first and last sc of the row. So maybe you forgot to do a sc in the first st before doing a trinity stitch, or maybe you forgot to do a sc in the same as the last trinity st

I have been trying to make this but mine only measures about 2 1\2 inches wide. Would this be because of my tension on my yarn?
@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
Yes, it could have to do with your tension and/or the weight of the yarn you are using. Different cotton yarns can be considered a #4 weight, but can vary (I even saw this with my own yarn that was the same brand but a different color). I would suggest increasing the number of foundation chains to make yours wider!
