WOW! Thank you so much... I think I've watched nearly every 'how to crochet a triangle' video and kept ending up with a weird squashed blob. I set myself the challenge of making my daughter a dinosaur hat with spikes for Christmas... forgetting I don't know how to crochet 😆 I've just made my first perfect triangle thanks to you!

Benjamin, I can't thank you enough for your video. I am working on a princess blanket for my very first granddaughter who is due in Feb. 2016. I was trying to figure out how to crochet an umbrella. So, after looking at many of them, I figured if I crochet 2 or 3 triangles and turn them upside down I would have an umbrella after attaching them together. Thanks to your video it worked out great. I want to make a trioforce but before I can even think to do that I need to learn to make a triangle. these smaller ones have been hard but I found doubling the size helps me see what I'm working with easier and I think that's helping me actually get a coherent triangle rather than frustrated after 2 rows and not really sure which way I was even working

So at the end if you count that last ch 1 as a row you should have a total of 12 rows correct? I'm just trying to make sure I finish it correctly.

I am doing a project where I'm incorporating in a 90 degree triangle, and I need to reverse it on the opposite side of the project. I don't want to flip the triangle because I want the stitches to look alike. How would you suggest I INcrease the row, -but in the same gradual, neat way and still be the same exact size? I have an idea, but you may have a better one! Thanks :)

What do you mean by decrease in the first two and decrease in the last two stitches?
@emilymendoza22699 жыл бұрын
Single crochet 2 together also read as sc2tog in a pattern. What you do is do like you are going to do a single crochet and instead of pulling the thread through to close it you go to the next stitch and draw up a loop in that stitch. Then yarn over and pull the yarn through all three loops
@cherylhutchinson22066 жыл бұрын
@@emilymendoza2269 Doesn't mean a thing to me. He should have shown us what it meant to decrease 2 together. If you are a beginner like me your instructions are as meaningless as his. Shoot!
@dadscornerentertainment11026 жыл бұрын
@@cherylhutchinson2206 i cant think of a better way to explain it, emily did a good job so i think your next best thing it so look up a video on how to do a decrease stitch. put your crochet hook in your next stitch. yarn over, pull through a loop and you'll be left with 2 loops on your hook. now put your hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull through a loop. you'll now have 3 loops on your hook. yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on your hook. you just made a decrease stitch, which should leave you with 1 loop on your hook.
@cherylhutchinson22066 жыл бұрын
@@dadscornerentertainment1102 Nah. I am the kind that needs to DO this kind of thing to learn it, not watch someone else do it when they are already so familiar with it they assume you know exactly what they are talking about. I am an absolute beginner. I ended up asking this lady I know. She watched me do it and used a knitting needle to point to exactly where the needle should go. Lol. No I am not an idiot. This just isn't my thing. But I am enjoying it.

Not helpful for some who is a beginner. How do you decrease? I would assume a person who knows how to decrease would be able to figure out a triangle with out a video.
@BenjaminKrudwig7 жыл бұрын
Jane Pipia hi there, thanks for your feedback. I believe I have a video on the basics of increasing and decreasing, but I guess I’m noticing not everyone is seeing that video first, my apologies!
@heartfullbutterfly3147 жыл бұрын
I would just youtube search it, but I'll try to explain it. When written a decrease looks like sctog. Which means single crochet 2 stitches together. So when you are about to finish a stitch and have the 2 remaining loops on your hook. Keep those 2 loops on you hook and begin the next single crochet except when you are about to finish pull through all the remaining loops on your hook. I don't know how to word this without it sounding confusing so I'm sorry about that, but just know its a lot easier than it sounds
@catfishtotoro.354910 жыл бұрын
My triangle was 6 chains so the video was no help. It's not your fault, and I made a triangle in the end! :)
