Nice tutorial... I want to make a bigger bag Could you help me with the counts Instead of 17 stitches in the beginning can I do any number? Or does it have to be a multiple of some number? Instead of 12 rows can we increase it?

I think there is a mistake. I think the beginning chain needs to be a multiple of 3.

For the first row- are you supposed to be making the 2 single crochets into the same chain? Or do you make 2 single crochets into 2 of the below chains?

Single crochets each in two consecutive chains and skip one chain and make two single crochets and skip one chain..and so on. xx_xx_xx_xx_ something like that..graphically. :)
