How to crochet cute striped baby shoes / booties for beginners

This tutorial will show you how to crochet easy striped baby shoes / booties / slippers. These baby shoes are suitable for beginners.
For size 0 - 3 months use a 4mm crochet hook
For size 3 - 6 months use a 4.5mm crochet hook
For size 6 - 12 months use a 5mm crochet hook
For my baby shoes I used a 4mm crochet hook and Drops Merino Extra Fine yarn (DK weight).

Hey! Thanks for this tutorial. I just want to give my feedback after making these pairs, I worked with 5mm hook, turned out to be a little clumsy.. I guess this pattern does not work on bigger hook sizes..

The stitches that are done to make the closing of the centre toe are coming out at the side of the bootie rather than the front. I have the right amount of stitches every round but the stitches are off centre. Can you please tell me why this is happening?

Her half double crochet stitches, are actually, half treble crochet, in USA terms. She's using UK crochet terms, and should clarify that fact.
