The moss stitch is one of my all time favorite stitches! It was the stitch I learned when first starting to crochet, and the stitch I teach all beginners because it’s simple, looks really nice, and it’s easy to see your stitches! I’m always looking for new patterns to use it, thanks so much 🥰🥰

Hey! beginner here, and i'm following this tutorial to make a pair of gloves. ive been having some trouble keeping the work even and stopping it from curving. Do you have any tips for the moss stitch?
@SmexyMinion Жыл бұрын
@@bruhcat_112 be sure not to make the stitch too tight
@candyackley125511 ай бұрын
@@bruhcat_112 sorry, just now saw this.. a little bit of curling is normal as your starting any crochet project, but as you make more rows it should even out. Tips: if your chains are tighter than your stitches, that could cause curling (or vice versa). Or missed stitches, or added stitches could cause uneven rows too. And with moss stitch, you make your stitches not in the top of previous stitches but in between in the spaces. Hope this helps, good luck! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I'm a beginner and I'm making these gloves to protect my hands from the sun to prevent eczema breakouts. The thing is, I need to add a little bit to cover my thumb. Do you have a video that can help me learn how to do that?
@naztazia6 ай бұрын
Sorry I don't have a video. If you know how to crochet in the round, I would generally start at the bottom of where the thumb would be, and make stitches in the round around that thumb opening for several rounds. Another option is make a little rectangle the size of the circumference of the thumb, sew it to form a tube, then sew it to the thumb hole.

Could I use an H hook instead of an F hook? I am just starting and I was wondering if it would mean anything to use a different hook size
@naztazia Жыл бұрын
Larger hook sizes, an H is 5 mm and an F is 3.75 mm would generally make the stitches larger. As long as the measurements are within the range given in the video, it should be just fine.

I love this tutorial but my gloves at the 6th row I could see my work going into a pyramid sort of look and it's decreasing my rows, how to prevent?
@naztazia11 ай бұрын
Since this shape is primarily a rectangle, any decrease in the rows or slanting of shape is mostly due to counting. Might have to review precisely where you are putting your stitches so that you have the same number of single crochet stitches on each row.

@naztazia3 ай бұрын
That usually is a counting issue. If a side became smaller, it is because less stitches were made on each row, usually either the first or the last stitch, or even both, were missed.

I’ve found crocheting is really difficult because I’m far sighted but have a habit of putting things real close to my face as if it’ll make me see better. So I can’t actually see what I’m doing because if it’s too far I can’t make out the details cuz that’s just how my brain works but if it’s too close everything is blurry 😭

I completely understand. I'm turning 50 in a couple of weeks and my close vision is getting worse!
