This crochet tutorial will take you thru the first steps of crocheting this Unicorn hat. I used acrylic, medium weight yarn from RedHeart Supersaver in several colors. The color choices can be your own.

Infant- Size E Hook,
Babies Size Fhook,
Toddler Size G hook.
To crochet a beanie for an older child use a size H hook and a medium weight worsted yarn.
For adults you can use a size J hook and a heavier weight of yarn (maybe even a chunky weight.
The pattern is the same for all sizes. Only the size of hook and weight of yarn changes. This makes beanie pattern for all sizes. From Baby - adult size. Follow the same pattern

Hi there I’m so excited to finish this hat but I’ve made one and so far I’ve finished the white and the pink but I’m confused because it doesn’t decrease around the band so it’s like a big bowl and not sure how it’s going to stay on my 8 year old granddaughters head! Could you tell me what I’m missing? Because with all the weight I’m going to sew onto it, how with it nay 12 rows total do they keep this on ? Thank you in advance. I did this in an H hook and it would not fit over my daughter's ears with just 12 rounds so i ended up having to add on an extra 2 rounds at the bottom.... is this normal with using a smaller hook? Also the top part of the hat seemed loose...

Q: i purchased your pattern and on row 4 here you do 2 dc into same stitch and 2 singles. But, the written pattern notes dc into next 3 stitches and 2 single dc. I'd hate to follow the video and then later use the pattern and it doesn't work out. Help!

It came out a little larger (more like teens and women).... Try going down to a size H Hook for kids.. and size G hook for the horn.
