how to crochet granny square bucket hat (red velvet joy’s mv) - part 1

hi everyone!!
in this video, I’ll be sharing with you guys on how to crochet this granny square bucket hat which I tried to recreate from red velvet joy’s music video for her song 안녕/hello. For part 1, I’ll be sharing on how to crochet the granny square (step-by-step).
My granny square size: ~ 12 x 12cm and the circumference of bucket hat is around 56-58cm.

My granny square size is 12x12cm and the circumference of the hat is approximately 56-58cm (M size). Please feel free to adjust the size of the crochet hook to get a bigger/smaller bucket hat

a note for myself because i'm a little confused round 3 3 tc into dc space, ch 1, skip 1 space (x3) 3 tc into dc space, ch 2, skip 1 space (x1) repeat the steps 4x

yes, you can :) but the bucket hat will end up being bigger in size if you don't mind

Hiii may i ask if i change crochet hook to get a smaller size of the bucket hat, do i change the size of the granny square too or the same as yours but diff crochet hook?

The crochet stitch pattern would be the same. Since you use a smaller size of the hook, the granny square will naturally become smaller in size

for me, I just directly made 5 squares of hdc & dc in round 5. But you can make 14sc on all sides for the top square if you’d like to! :)

hi! if u trim the yarn right where you tied them together, it might come loose - so i prefer to weave it in for a bit first before cutting it

hi, i used about 1.5 roll for purple and 0.5 roll for green. But this depends on how long each roll of your thread is. I used 70m for green and 230m for purple in total

hi! crochet hook size is 4.5mm - and granny square size ends up around 12x12cm and circumference becomes around 56-58cm. Please adjust crochet hook size accordingly as different hand tension might result in different square size from person to person
