Thanks for this tutorial. I was able to complete this hat in an hour. Very easy and fast. I liked that you can use any type of yarn as long as you stick to the measurements. I used super bulky yarn and it worked up very quickly. My friend who ordered it from me LOVES IT! Definitely making more of these.

Just about finished this. My best friend taught me the basic chain and single crochet stitch about 2 years ago and i was too nervous to try anything else. What a great idea to add the elastic! I've always made these with a drawstring with pom poms on each end and while they look cute, this has a lovely clean line for those that don't like danglies. I'll definitely be making a few like this for family and friends - and one or two for me! Cheers!
