Aight I literally just learned how to crochet four hours ago but that mid-circle manoeuvre at row 10 (5:48) does not look like a half double crochet two together (hdc2tog) decrease stitch. It didn’t feel right following the video so I went to follow a proper demo of the hdc2tog to work out this bit (yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull through to leave 3 loops on hook, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull through to now have 4 loops on hook, yarn over one last time and pull through all 4 loops - hdc2tog decrease). Just fyi to anyone confused with the same problem. Idk if what I did was right or wrong according to the pattern in this video, but it worked a right charm. My basket is nice and round and baskety, like the edge is neat and tight so the contents aren’t likely to tip out, which I assume is what that decrease in the design was meant to do. Since I didn’t use the sc2tog as the video (but not the instructions) demonstrated though, idk if it would have had a different effect so I can’t say much about that. Anyway, ta.

Thank you so much! This is exactly the sort of plant basket I wanted and you show how to do it so well

Great tutorial! I found mine didn’t come out as “baskety” as yours but I think that’s probably down to the yarn and hook I used, however it still works for my small plants! Thank you for sharing !

I followed along with this tonight and made it, somehow I ended up with a shallow bowl so I kept going a few more rows with more half double reducing in the front on left n right of the center and it made it a tigher pot but very much more acceptable with easy fix.

Thank you for your video! I love it! I am a beginner and I didn't follow you from round 7. 'Make another 3 rounds like round 6,' I'm not sure if in these 3 rounds, after I finish one round, do I need to chain 3 to start the next round? Thank you if you can help me out.

thank you so much for this! I can't tell you how many times I've used this pattern for hangers. Lately I have been making a bunch because I want to perfect my style and I have a lot of plants. I have one question, when you join the round with a slip stitch in the increase rounds, are you joining to the chain 2 or skipping the chain 2 and joining to the actual first sc?

What doe you mean by "another 3 round like row 6"?
@tanialyn43674 жыл бұрын
I think they mean to repeat the next 3 rows the exact same way you crocheted row number 6.

For the 10th round if you’re lost do the sc half way than when you get half way in the next stitch yarn over but don’t pull it through, leave the loop on your hook do it again, than the next time pull it all through than continue with the sc. You’ll realize that it looks more round! Hope that make sense lol.

I’m having the same problem. I think we’re supposed to join to the chain 2 in the beginning rounds. Joining to the sc, we just lose the height from the chain 2. (I haven’t tested this theory yet.)
