Using this edging for a very large shawl.72" wide with 43" deep. Just a simple double crochet in the back loop, for every row. The purpose of this shawl is warmth. My friend is delighted with it. Especially the edging. Than you for this detailed video.

Thank you! I’m in my 50’s and until now my brain just wouldn’t let me accept anything other than a basic crochet stitch, and definitely not the names of different stitches. Now it seems much easier. I think the reason I’m able to learn easier now is because I don’t have kids or work to distract me.

Really useful to see how to fudge the odd number of stitches! I've watched a lot of instruction videos but what to do when your stitch numbers are unpredictable is great. As a beginner my sampler blanket is very uneven and it's so good to see it will still look nice with this shell border - thank you!

Beautiful! Can you just continue this for a wider border... can you build on it.. or would this be more of a finish after several "plain" rounds? (I hope this makes sense)
@mooglyblog6 ай бұрын
You could! I would make the second round of shells in the sc sts and sc in the center st of the first round of shells. You'll have to play with the corners a bit, but otherwise that's it!
