I just followed the video tutorial and have done the Drunken Granny stitch before, but I have not received my order for this pattern, since I do want to other sizes of this pattern. Ex Solent video and excellent teaching. The question I have is why we cannot continue this on round from down to top? Can we go round 1st 12 rows. Then increase the chain to both sides for the front and back. Then start 13th row again? So we go completely in round as pull over? That will avoid the stitching at the end.

I love tops like this! Loose and flowy. I'm currently making your summer lacy top and will make this next. I want to make this into a cardigan/ kimono style though. Should I just shorten the front panel and make two of those then just connect it to the back (so that the center is open)? How short should each front panel be?
