My aunt, who taught her daughters (all 8) how to create anything to wear took me in for a few months and improved my sewing. Teaching me techniques and knowledge that my previous education lacked. All my cousins can look at any fashion magazine and create what they see without a pattern in just a few days. And it perfectly fits their body. My aunt taught that if you can see it clearly in your mind you can create it. But here’s the thing. You can dream up just about anything, if you don’t have the knowledge, learned skills, and practiced techniques you can never create it. They go hand in hand. I love this pattern by the way. i love your work. I go to monthly visits to the Cancer clinic for my routine checkups for my stage 4 Metastatic Breast cancer that for now it under control!!! Point is while there they see the tops i have on and love it and some i made turned out too snug for me or just not my style so i give them away to the RN's and the CMA's that work at the clinic. Some of them have teen aged daughters or grandaughters that love the styles i make from your channel , so they take em and that makes good use of my time invested. I am five foot six inches tall and i am about 130lbs, which last year i was a deathly low 110 lbs nearly dead lol but the treatment given last year that i take daily now saved my life. So now i make baggy tops and if too snug i just give away to those who are nice to me at the clinic and hospital. It worked in my favor to because the medical staff abroad in hospitals these days are evil and ugly hearted as hell. The crochet top give aways worked miracles for me since i am locked in having to go monthly for the rest of my life and the treatment is known to keep people alive well over ten years or more so it is vital those gals that work there are nice to me hahaha. When they saw me giving away the tops i crocheted from your channel to girls that work there that are kind , the few like three there were kind, when i gave away those tops, the rest suddenly started to become more and more kind to me with each passing appointment hahaha. They noticed the quality of yarn and the quality of the tops i made looked like something you would pay 80$ or more at a name brand store. When they found out i was only giving those away as gifts to those who were kind gentle and cared about me, it motivated more nurses and staff there to treat me with respect rather than white trash. The ones that left me in agony and about terrified me thinking they were going to get away with murdering me in the hospital, i am making them wait the longest. I really want to see the lump in their throat as they try to hide their embarrassment and disappointment in themselves as they see the nice and kind nurses and CMA get a gorgeous sparkly shiny colorful gift wrapped bow tied hand crafted quality hoody or sweater or cardigan , or who knows mystery gift that could be a matching set of crocheted pants and top OR even a full body crocheted dress. Who knows i might not live long enough to get around to making anything for the ones that were evil to me when i was vulnerable in their care at the hospital. hahaha , So i just wanted you to know that what you are doing on your channel sharing your gifts to folk like me, i am able to reach out and share the same gift extended to others. I just subbed to your channel. I'm amazed at how many pieces you have done in a 7 year period and how the skill level has increased over time. I was just scrolling and scrolling and was saying "oh, that's nice... oh that's cute"! And your model (is it you?) has a very nice body... so everything looks great on her! I would consider myself an intermediate skill level, so I'm going to start with leg warmers. A newbie mistake I'd like to share : Watch the whole video before you start! I started the first 6 rows and frogged it twice before realizing that the width of the leg warmer would increase later in the video! But I like the pattern so far! I'm excited to work my first cable knit/alpine stitch detail. Thanks!
