@craftycruella
@craftycruella Жыл бұрын
Ahh I’m so glad you enjoyed it, I have spend many hours getting tangled myself, so now I like to crochet at a table (for colour work) I turn the work & then move each bobbin to untangle, and repeat for each turn. When you work like this you only lift them over a bobbin or two at a time so they never actually get really tangled. I hope this helps 😊

This is an excellent video showing how to change colors, carry yarn and read the chart! I've always called this Intarsia Crochet, not Tapestry Crochet. Intarsia Crochet uses the bobbins. Tapestry Crochet works over the carried yarn. Could this technique be called Tapestry Crochet in the UK and Intarsia Crochet in the US? It looks like you're doing Tapestry Intarsia Crochet using both techniques together (using bobbins across the row and carrying the yarn in spots to use again). Thanks for the idea of using the organza bag for a bobbin!

This was helpful but it would be nice to know how you start adding and ending colors, like what you do with the tails ie: tie off or work over with no securing. Thanks.
@craftycruella
@craftycruella Жыл бұрын
Hi, when I am finished with a colour, if I don’t need it again I cut it off leaving a tail, at the end when weaving in that end I like to weave a bit then tie a small knot to a stitch then weave again. Some people will just weave it in and some will work over the end until the tail runs out, but this is personal preference 😊

This is a very helpful technique but may I ask how about if you're going to turn your work? isn't it going to ruin the pattern from the front since you are stitching from the back?
@craftycruella

Thank you, no it doesn’t ruin the pattern at all, the designer of whatever pattern you make will have this in mind.

@@bluee112_aj Hi, If the pattern is designed like this in turned rows then it will have been taken into account by the designer, the only time it will look different is if the pattern is designed in the round (this will be stated at the beginning of the pattern) bags and baskets are generally made in the round.

Hello! This tutorial was really helpful, you are so good! I'm struggling with 2 colours hahan't. By the way, do you flip your work and continue normally? I feel that the front of each row is different (like the double of the back) and it looks kind of weird, I don't know if I should just ignore it.
@craftycruella
@craftycruella Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much, yes you chain the desired amount, turn & continue like normal. Good point, maybe I could do a video showing front and back, tapestry is designed with the angle of the front stitches in mind, so yeah the back may look a little different.

I wish you had shown the back side as well because you left the pink hanging.
@craftycruella
@craftycruella Жыл бұрын
With tapestry crochet the back would look very similar to the front. The pink I dropped would be picked up on my wrong side row to make more pink stitches in that area, I only dropped it because for my demo I didn’t need the pink again so didn’t want to carry it to the end, & then have to carry it all the way back to where it was. I hope this helps ☺️
