Aww that’s so sweet! ❤️May I know what type of yarn you are using? Cos different yarn thickness affects the rounds and size. I will try my best to help🤗. magic ring of 10, Row1: 10sc Row2: [inc]x10(20) Row3: [1sc, inc]x10(30) Row4: [2sc, inc]x10(40) Row5: [3sc, inc]x10(50) … etc Cat head usually not so big so row 3-4 should be okie . After that , count back 4-8 stitches without Sc. (Depending on the thickness of the yarn, thicker yarn less stitches, thinner more stitches) Sc back and forth to your desired size . Hope this helps . It’s more like a trail and error😊 . It’s easier if you have the cat so you can measure while working on it . All the best ! 👍🏻

@@euukalipto so I presume it’s a 4 ply cotton yarn ? Then you will use a double crochet instead. oh no sorry I wrote wrongly previously 😣. I will need to readjust the stitches 😁 Magic ring of 12 dc Row1: 12dc Row2: [inc]x12 ( 24) Row3: [1dc, inc]x12( 36) Row4: [2dc, inc]x12(48) Row5: [3dc, inc]x12(60) … etc So meaning when you are starting to make row 2 . And previously Row1 have 12stitches .so in each stitch you make 2 dc . In the end row 2 have 24 stitches altogether . Row 3 , 1st stitch is 1 dc , next stitch u have 2 dc in that stitch , alternate it to have 36 stitches altogether. Hope you understand ☺️. Oh you can test between magic ring of 10 or 12. See which one fits better for your friend’s cat 🤗

Hi, you can try to measure their head. But It’s best to crochet and test it on the kittens to see if it fits nicely😸. If you are using the thick yarn that I am using. You can try to use the pattern that i modified. Row1: Magic Ring , sc8 (8) Row2: Inc x6(16) Row3: [1sc, inc] x6 (24) Row4: [2sc, inc] x5 (20) * Place a stitch marker on the 1st stitch. count back to the 9th stitch and place another stitch marker. In between these, DO NOT make any stitches. Row5 -7 : ch1, turn over and 20sc . This is the base of the hat. Hope this helps☺

Hi maybe you can check out my how to crochet panda Pom Pom hat for the base . As it uses 4 ply cotton yarn . 😊. Another way is you can use 2 strings of the same yarn to crochet as a thicker yarn. If you are using 20sc in the first row . The shape on the center may be bloated when you increase each row . Sc - single crochet dc - double crochet Rep/ * - repeat Slst - slip stitch Ch - chain Hope these helps 😊

Hi Trina , I actually stick and sew around the corners of the Velcro to make it more secure 😊. Cos when you remove the hat and pulling too hard, may cause the velcro to come off . Hope this helps😽

You can skip the part of crocheting the straps . Instead, cut 2 long yarns and tie knots at each side of the hat. Tie it as a ribbon. Hope this helps 😊

@@nothingtoseeh2940 sc inc means single crochet increase. So each stitch you have 2 sc stitches. row1 you have 10 already right. Then each stitch have 2 sc. In the end, 10x2 equals to 20 stitches. 😺

U can increase the number of rounds to fit the back of your head . Nope 8mm is closer to 11/0. You can use your 6mm for chunky yarn. For chunky yarn, both a 6mm and an 8mm crochet hook can work. Generally, an 8mm hook is commonly used for chunky yarn to create a more open and airy stitch pattern. However, if you want a tighter stitch pattern, you can use a 6mm hook. Hi Kat, you may have missed some of the stitches . Cos chunky yarn may be tricky to see the spacing. Row 1 has 10 stitches. At Row2 , you will start increasing , should have 2 stitches in each stitch that makes up 20 in total for Row2. Maybe you can use extra stitch marker to guide you. Hope this helps . After making if you find it’s kind of small , you can add in extra Row for Row4 for that extra size .Example : Row1: 10 sc in magic ring Row2: [inc] repeat 10 After finish Row2, place stitch maker and count back to the 4th chain , place another stitch marker. Row3: [sc, inc] repeat 8x till u reach stitch marker. So meaning inbetween the stitch markers . You don’t make any sc stitches 😊 Row4 : [2sc, inc] repeat 8x⬅️ Extra Row Need some trail and error . Make 2 sc on the 2nd stitch. Followed by sc on the 3rd stitch, 2sc on the 4th. So the pattern is [sc, inc]. inc means increase whereby you make 2sc. so repeat this pattern of [sc,inc] till you reach the stitch marker. Altogether, you should have 24 stitches at 3rd Row. ===4th to 8th Row=== Make sc in each stitch. you will make altoghter 24 stitches. ch1 and turn over your work.(reference the video to see how to turn over your work.) Repeat this pattern 24sc, ch1 and turnover your work till you finish the 8th Row. ===9th Row=== sc along the row as shown on the video. *You can click on the time slider on my desciption box : Row9 - **12:43* ===Strap x2=== Continue from 9th Row. Sure ! At Row3, Single Crochet at the first Stitch. Place a Stitch Maker, Count back 4 Stitches and place a Stitch Marker. So in between these Stitch Marker, don’t crochet anything, they are spaces. After that, make 2 Single Crochet into the next Stitch. This is what we call an Increase(Inc). So repeat the steps. One Single Crochet into the next Stitch, 2 Single Crochet into the next step,etc . Repeat this steps till you reach the Stitch Marker. Hope this helps you to understand better 😊
