So nice to see that you hold your yarn just like I do. I wrap yarn on my left hand fingers just like you..😊

Oh my! You are the only one I’ve seen who holds the crochet hook using the index finger of the left hand instead of the forefinger aka continental style. I don’t feel like I was the weird one after all….awesome!

I was going to say the same thing! 😀

This was easy on left hand.

Thanks so much for teaching this extended stitch. I've watched many tutorials, and yours by far the easiest for me to follow. I'm new at this stitch, and I feel like I can do it now !

Thanks for the clear instruction on this interesting stitch! I think I will use it with a scarf that I want to use to show off some pretty yarn.

@mjsoffthehook ..this was the most concise & precise explanation I have found of the extended single crochet. I am very happy with this tutorial. Could you possible explain to me how I would do this as a 'smooth' extended single crochet without chaining? (if at all possible) Thank you in advance.

Can you do a video on how to change colors on the extended single crochet front and backside? I love your video.

@MJ's Off the Hook Designs Thanks for posting this mini tutorial for this often forgotten stitch. I've watch thousands of tutorials and only saw this stitch mentioned about a handful of times. I wonder why more ppl don't use it. I like it. IlThe next time I am doing an all SC project, I'm changing it to the extended sc. P.S. I gave you a like (I think it's important to do that on every video, so I make it a habit to do it) and also saved this to my favorites. 💜

Is the esc similar in size to the hdc?
@mjsoffthehook5 жыл бұрын
Rena Duran yes it is. A great stitch to work with cables rather than an hdc. 😀

@Rena Duran Thank you for asking this.. this was my question as well. 🙂

Hi may i know how to make 12.5 rows of esc?
@sjcarroll22933 жыл бұрын
Just continue on same as she did for tow 2. Until you have 12 rows.
@sjcarroll22933 жыл бұрын
However, you can’t do 12.5 rows. You can do 12 or 13x but no way to do half a tow. Not sure what you are trying to do.

I notice that sometimes in a pattern, the designer will say "This counts as the first stitch", and other times, "This doesn't count as the first stitch." I'm wondering what determines when a stitch "counts" and when it doesn't, and what difference it makes to count or not count incorrectly.

Thanks!

Was there an answer to your question? If so it was deleted. I was wondering the same.

@@jeniferclassi3473 did u ever get an answer? Usually somewhere in the pattern notes with the hook size yarn what you need special sts ect they will have some about ch1/2/3 on a turning row does not count as a st. (That usually means do your turning chain - or alternate chain less turning st in the very first hole.
