I’m using a thicker yarn so I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but when I did the first row of dc it grew an inch longer than the amount I needed by the end. I know it’s supposed to get longer but I hadn’t even made the cone shape yet for it to get longer. I’m not sure if it makes sense I just want to make sure I’m doing it correctly

The cup sizes on the chart dont seem correct. I used my own personal measurements and a measurement for the H cup on the chart. I know what size I am since I've had to be professionally fit and have had to order custom bras. The H cup for the chart turned out massive. My best guess is maybe the nipples are suppose to be higher up on a breast theoretically and some of us have lower placed nips so that is making the measurements off? Maybe? This is such a weird thing to post on a KZbin video.

Depends on the cup size and how you do the straps, the bigger the cup is it gets more difficult to distribute the weight in the straps

What do you mean by 'blocking off the stitch' when you've chained your first 13? I crochet left handed so it's difficult for me to see what's going on but I've only heard of blocking in relation to setting a finished piece so the terminology is confusing me! Thanks :)

I think she just meant to hold your finger over it so you know which stitch to put your first double crochet into. (Basically just chain til you get however many inches you need, then chain 3 more past that, then double crochet into the fourth chain from the hook)

Yes, single crochets make a more solid fabric while double crochets are more lace like and with bigger hooks a nipple can pop through, I recommend either single crochet or half double crochet (idk how it got the name and I know it sounds a little confusing just don't focus on the name) as its less holey than double crochets but works up quicker than single crochets

When you get to the end of the foundation row, the last stich you are adding 3 dcs to it. Turn now crochet into the foundation row but the opposite side. This whole thing is row one.

I know this is a bit late but for the next person that needs it. She did a foundation chain of 13 chain stitches. She did 12 double crochet stitches and into the last one she did two double crochet stitches chain two and two more double crochet stitches into the 13th chain she then continued down the bottom side of the foundation and did another 12 double crochet stitches. So she ended with a total of 28 stitches for the first row. For the next row you will chain up of three turn your work and do a double crochet stitch into each stitch then once you get to the chain two space at the top you will do two double crochet stitches chain two and two more double crochet stitches all in that chain two space before continuing with double crochet stitches in each double crochet space available. If you have the same measurement of 3" from your nip to under boob and have therefore done the same number of chain stitches at the beginning you will have a total of 32 double crochet stitches after this second row. You will then continue with this pattern until you are happy with the amount of coverage the cup provides. She did a total of 8 double crochet rows. So at the end of those 8 rows she should have had a total of 56 double crochet stitches!! Though do keep in mind depending on your yarn type, hook size and bust measurements you might need to start with a different number of chain stitches. Hope this was helpful.
