I’ve used this technique a was taught by Tinna who makes beautiful mosaic designs here on KZbin. My suggestion would be to use a sharper needle when making your base stitches.

I agree that blunt one looks like a struggle.

And strenuous on the finger tips. That's why I use the embroidery thread and a sharp needle.😊❤

Ok. Time for me to go get that cardigan and sew in the zipper❤

Or use a sharp steel crochet hook, you can just puncture the zip from the top then pull up the loops of yarn when you pull the hook back out!

@@Addicted2Yarn1 Smart. I'm going to try this. Have my spare zipper ready in case I ruin it though 😂

I have tried all different ways to get a zipper worked in and this is the easiest way I've tried. Thanks so much now I can remake the pouch I started and never finished. It will look a lot nicer with even spaces. You know, it's taking time away from my cruise homework, LOL. I know I have over a year but I already started.

Just finished making 40 zipper pouches. I used a blanket stitch for the beginning and left it connected to the skein so no end to weave.

Oh, thank you Mikey! When I saw you making a small zippered pouch the other day, I was curious as to how you attached the zipper first. You must have read my mind. LOL

i'm about 5 rows in and my zipper pouch is looking like a banana. is this kind of bend normal at first? will it straighten out as I go on or have I done something wrong?

It should.
