Thanks for this video. I'm an experienced linen stitcher, but my philosophy is that you can always learn something newm and I did. Saved the video to watch again just in case I forgot something.

I will give linen another try. My eyes are not so great and it was very frustrating when I tried before. Steel city stitchers are always great to watch. Thank you for the tutorial.

Thank you. I’ve been cross stitching on and off for 35 yrs but I’ve never stitch on linen or evenweave. I’ve been inspired by all the beautiful new to me fabrics I’ve seen since watching Flosstube. Wish me luck. ☺️ 💕

I was looking everywhere on KZbin for this!! Thank you for the detailed explanation...i have a 25 count evenweave which i started to cross stitch many years ago using a pattern from a magazine. I was doing 3 strands of floss over one (if that makes sense). This was my first time with evenweave and a long time before internet was the norm so i just followed the written instructions which were very basic!! I really want to complete this cross stitch but as its so intricate, I was wondering if there were any tips you had, esp since im straining to see the holes??? Thanks

Thank you for such wonderful feedback. Really good lighting will help and possibly a magnifier :)
@zkm4572 ай бұрын
@CaterpillarCrossStitch you're welcome, your channel is great! And yes I'll definitely look into getting a magnifier. Aside from this I actually showed my work to a craft shop and realised I actually was stitching over 2 and not 1!!!🤣🤣🤣 ....so it definitely helps to get a fresh look at something from someone else !!!

Wow. What a great tutorial. I’m new to cross stitch and have been using Aida fabrics. I’ve been intimidated by linen because of the little holes but don’t enjoy the stiffness of Aida. Your explanation was clear and easy to understand. Thanks. I’ll be watching future FT.

Thank you so much! I have a linen bookmark kit and the pattern isn’t done very well, so that didn’t help. But after years of cross stitching, stitching large projects, I had never done anything on linen. Especially not a 28 ct. so thank you for demonstrating this!!

Can you show how to go to the next row of stitching on evenware, I think I have the first row understood so I want to know the next row.
@Pollyjpocket25 күн бұрын
I just started my first cross stitch project inspired by my late grandmother. Its a 3 over 2, but im not sure how that impacts counting the pattern from the paper on to my linen grid. Does going over 2 threads mean i have less space on my linen? Does that change how i should be counting my crosses over the grid pattern? Thank you so much! This video already explained so much!

I am new to your program. Thank you so much for teaching the different counts on Linen. I have wanted to try linen, but was not sure if I could see the holes. I could see them on uour video. Now I know I can try it. Will you, or have you taught evenweave?

Can and pattern for Aida be stitched on linen to make it smaller?
@caterpillarcarla62403 жыл бұрын
Yes it can. A higher count will make the pattern smaller or you can stitch over 1 instead of 2

how do you know what size needle to use with the different cloths?
@CaterpillarCrossStitch2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much for watching! There is a general guide that size 24 needle is used for 14ct Aida or 28ct evenweave/linen; size 26 is used for 16ct Aida or 32ct evenweave/linen and size 28 is used for anything above 18ct Aida or 36ct evenweave/linen. This is just a general guide though, some people prefer to use a smaller needle than recommended and some bigger. I'd recommend to try the smaller needles and see what suits you best! Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

Hi. My pattern instructions don’t indicate if I should do 2 over 2 or what…so, I have no idea how to stitch on Dublin 25 count. Any suggestions? I’m working on Bucilla project 41333 Hardanger House.
@maryzuffi15994 жыл бұрын
It’s the more to get to another spot that gets me - not the one row of stitches - counting to stitch above or below on the chart omg the counting to get there - think I’ll just stay at 14 count
