Hi just wanted to give you a simple hint just run the legs of a cross stitch through the center of the bead it will give you a horizontal or vertical bead depending on which order you choose to put the legs in. If you want it diagonal the run one leg of a cross stitch through it. What you did was a good idea but I don’t think it is tight enough.

I use the sewing method but I hold the rolled fabric differently. Instead of the fabric being on the side it is on the bottom making it much easier and more effective to use. I can also use the pin stitch for starting and finishing my thread. Holding the fabric on the bottom will help those who stitch “left handed “ also.

Thank you for a useful video! For now all my pieces are framed and covered with glass, so I was really interested in the way you suggested - to leave some space between glass and fabric. It would be great if you could add some demonstration for such videos next time!

Hi Ford! I saw another KZbinr who has a great tutorial for beading. Her channel is The Giddy Stitcher. Like you, she shows how she does it slow enough that you can follow. The beads stand up and in the correct direction. My first time using beads, I couldn't get them to stand up straight - they would fall on their side and show the hole. That wasn't the look I was going for. I watched a tutorial and found that you go through the hole in the fabric like a regular cross stitch, then through the bead and own the 2nd hole like you would normally. Then up the 3rd hole, split the thread putting one on each side of the bead, and down your last hole, so you have complete the cross in your stitch. Then I found the Giddy Stitcher who added on to that. Thanks for sharing Ford. Take care.

When following a pattern do you complete one colour at a time or keep changing colour as you follow the pattern?

Mon; July 8th, 2024 Hi, Ford! Here's another Flosstuber you can learn beading from if you think you want to do it differntly...her name is Dana, from Peacock and Fig. I think she's since semi-retired from doing cross-stitch videos but, her videos are still available for viewing if you'd like to check her out. Good luck!! Blessed stitching to you all at Catapillar Crossstitch (❤Trish) North Adams, Massachusetts, USofA

Learned a lot, thank you! When working with beads, consider buying a beading mat. You poor the beads on the mat and they do not roll anywhere. Plus you can pick up the beads easily by sticking your needle through the beads into the mat whitout dulling your needle top.

Had them matted and framed in glass ,plus got it all done on a fantastic sale ,total 200.00 for the both of them I was thrilled. Only don't ever loo at the back of them, it's horrendous. My first two cross stitch marriage records I did, the only cross stitch I've ever done, were very fun to me ,once I replaced some of the threads with metallic threads ,added heading,etc. I also didn't get anal about every stitch was where it should be. The one marriage records was extremely busy ,with alot of one and two stitch groupings

Hi, I just found you and immediately subscribed. My needle art career started with my tiny needlepoint shoppe in Washington, D.C., cross stitch occupied one small basket with very little interest. The left-right needlepoint stitch is referred to as the “Continental” stitch and if you have the least little bit of tension while stitching, your canvas will pull tightly to the left-right direction. Cutting it out to redo will leave deep welts in your fingers and you hopefully won’t make that mistake more than once. The “Tent” stitch is referred to as the “Basketweave” Stitch, which prevents any canvas distortion. Another benefit to this stitch is that it leaves a very sturdy reverse side of your work. I found this extremely useful when needlepointing chair seat covers or any project that will get lots of wear. Sorry I went on so long but it’s all good information. Now, back to your videos.

I have an iron but no ironing board. Did you use an ironing board or just the pillowcase and a table. The pillowcase is a good idea. I was thinking of using the top of my washing machine. I was going to use an ironing pad but it has quilting on it. So I want to use the pillowcase. Is it safe to just use a pillowcase on the table or washing machine? Thanks. Love your videos!

I would avoid ironing on any surface heat could damage, especially wood, but I've ironed on my granite countertops before just fine. I have a small ironing board that's meant to sit on a table top. Takes up much less space and easier to set up! Thanks for watching!

I'm going to have to trade in my terry cloth towel for a pillow case! I iron my pieces when they are dry, especially to iron out creases from the hoop and nurge hoop. I notice when I iron directly on my Aida cloth, it discolours the Aida. It then looks brown like I have scorched it. Thankfully this is only on the back, so I haven't ruined projects! Another great video, though! I find the videos informative and entertaining!

Lookout! The cross stitch police will be all over you for ironing on the right side of the fabric. Personally, I think whatever makes it pretty for you is the right way. How do you keep the nozzle on that spray glue from clogging? I love the stuff but find its unusable after the first couple of projects. Hi Nugget!
@SonovaStitch7 күн бұрын
Ironing while damp keeps the fabric from scorching. The directions say to turn it upside down and spray it until it stops spraying glue after each use to clear the nozzle. So far that has worked (and my can is nearly empty). Thanks for watching!

Looks pretty and tidy but one issue is of storing remaining ends of threads after you complete work. I always preserve remaining floss for next work and only ziplock bags work in that way.
