Can you prepare for the CASPer test? This is one of the most commonly-asked questions by students interesting in taking the CASPer test for medical school, nursing school, dental school or other allied health professions. In this video, we will summarize the scientific evidence on the validity of preparation and coaching for the CASPer test.

I just wanted to let the cat out of the bag here...Casper is marked using AI tech therefore you need to know the key words in order to pass the test. You will not score high or pass if you don't have access to the key words the AI tech is programmed to look for. In order to get access to the key words you need to take a Casper workshop that gives you the key words...and type in the key words so that you score high...

Hi Hilary, this test uses AI tech to mark the tests and to pass you need to know the key words the AI tech is looking for. In order to get access to the key words you need to take a Casper workshop that gives you access to the key words the AI tech is programmed to look for...

Hi Austin, This will certainly break the bank so to speak...this test is marked using AI tech...the AI tech is programmed to look for key words in order to rank you/ score you higher than those that don't have the key words typed in their responses. In order to get access to the key words you either need a good friend that has taken a Casper workshop and doesn't mind sharing these key words with you or you need to take a Casper workshop one that tells you about the key words in order to pass this test...it is about outsmarting AI tech at the end of the day I've often wanted to sign up again to write it for fun and literally only type in the key words to see if it even matters what is written...like literally typing empathy multiple times and multiple world views, open minded multiple times, etc But without the key words no one stands a chance... my Question to Darren Chai, MD would be what are the key words if you have taken the Casper workshop can you share them here or in a separate video...

Hello Darren. Thank you for the amazing tips for writing the Casper test. I do have one question to ask you and it is regarding spelling and grammar errors on the test. Casper mentions on their website that raters are trained to ignore spelling and grammar mistakes. When you did your Casper test, did you have some spelling and grammar mistakes or did you type everything spelled perfectly for each of the 12 sections? Thanks.

Hey Daniel, I definitely made some spelling mistakes but I tried my best to avoid grammar cause sometimes that can literally change the interpretation of a sentence. I did try to limit these mistakes though cause the people marking them are human at the end of the day and may not follow their training to the tee!

Correct me if I am wrong but in my BeMo CASPer test book it explicitly says that not every question in a prompt is given points. Rather, the prompt as a whole is allotted points and you can receive all points even if you miss a question?

Hey Cara, you're right it is a "global impression score" for each station, similar to the MMI. But at the same time I do think it's important to try and space out your answer. The easier you make it for the reviewer to find the information they're looking for the better chance you have of scoring well. They're trained to be standardized assessors but interviewer fatigue is just a part of being human!

Hi Dijle, this test marks using AI tech you need to take a Casper workshop that gives you the key words that have to be typed in in order to pass your Casper test...without these key words the AI tech won't pass you or score you as a high as other people taking the test...so my advice is to take a Casper workshop unless you know a trusting friend that already has taken this workshop and knows the key words...

also grammarly will not work while you are writing this test they have their tech block on grammarly...none of this matters except being able to outbeat their AI tech you have to have those key words the tech is programmed to look for...

how long did u take to be prepared for the test?

Not long Vanessa. I just re-wrote it for residency applications so I did the sample questions and sample test on the website, then I exchanged a couple perspectives with my friends who wrote as well. I'd say in total I might have done anywhere between 5-10 hours of prep. This is my second time writing though. First time I read doing right casually before bed, however I didn't find it useful because you don't really need to know medical ethics for this test. A basic understanding of how autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice interplay in general ethical scenarios is more than enough IMO.
