How to Cry on Set on Cue | 鍾嘉欣 Linda Chung | ENG

So many people have asked me how I cry on set. Out of honesty, I have no real technique and it's all about feel at that moment. I always feel in every production, I am a newcomer. There are endless things to learn about acting and every role is different.

Hi Linda, I love this topic so much! The most impressive of your drama to me is "Yes, Sir. Sorry, Sir!"(點解阿Sir係阿Sir) in 2011! Miss Koo (Cool) was cried and collapsed at last when she learnt her love story is totally not true... Your cry scene in that drama is so shocked to all of us and stared to attract so many audience including me on your cry acting skills... Wow thats amazing 👍 you have a beautiful and soft tone speaking in English.. It feels so comforting almost like going to a counselling session hahaha. I love the way you always try to improve yourself in different ways, and you can just cry in the scene so quickly... Wow. Thats very professional! This is such a great content that you’re willing to share with your audiences! Thank you very much! Learnt a lot! Your performance and sincerity always touched my heart. I truly respect on how you and other actor/actress who can fall into emotion and hold your focus despite of the distraction during the set. I find it easier performing on stage (musical/dance) due to the atmosphere, music and story line for emotion building. Idk how to describe but it’s like a big bubble when all performers in the same energy giving out and receiving, sharing the same emotion, being able to immersed into it easily, this feeling always gave me goosebumps and can still feel it even after the rehearsals/shows. I’m no expert here at all. Just wondering what would you share on this. Anyway, thank you for sharing this!Would love to see more content like this one or any other creation you like to show. Love your voice by the way! And you’re such a great teacher! Xx

The easiest way to cry on set on cue would be to think of something happening to kids or desperately missing a loved one who could never return to earth plain and it would make me bawl my eyes out immediately. It would take me quite a few hours to pull myself together.
