3:32 I wish we had a wider angle to see your movements and then closeups to see the effect of each movement. We don’t need the camera to get in the paint, but it would be nice to see your hands and separately show the closeup of the piece right after each stage of spraying. I really couldn’t tell what you were doing or see anything except by imagining what you were telling us. I am glad for that narration. You explain very well, you’re creative and very skillful. I feel like you have a lot to teach! I really like your technique from what I can tell and I did sub to hopefully see more! Thanks!

Nice quick video, good tips. Would have been good if the camera was a bit further back to get a good idea of gun height etc.

Very good video and full of details. Thanks for doing this. I have a question, my Jeep is red and I am wanting to do this to the hood, do I still use white and black for the shadows?

Easiest way as I tell everyone. Do a spray out and see what works best for you

The only thing that sucks is that the clear typically likes to delaminate down the road when doing this.... It's just a matter of the base drying & losing that window.
@inthehomeshop3 жыл бұрын
Use an intercoat over the base, or clear then sand prior to this. Shouldn't have issues with delamination. Most base coats have a 24 hour window

Cool effect! Thanks for showing this. How much clear does it take to bury the droplets? is there an edge on the hilights?
@inthehomeshop3 жыл бұрын
2 normal coats and its flattened. The effect, when done correctly, is a minimal amount of paint on the panel, resulting in very little build! One of the many reasons it's so easy to pull off.

Great video. About what air pressure are you using? I’d like to try this with an airbrush.
@inthehomeshop3 жыл бұрын
Pressure will be different with different guns. I was around 10 psi. You want enough to blow out paint, but not disturb the water. Don't be afraid to adjust!

@@inthehomeshop thanks. It's almost like hydrodipping. Almost. Are you using Spies? Great product.

What about the over spray? Does that just add to the effect?
@inthehomeshop3 жыл бұрын
In this example, the overspray is "hidden" by the flake. You're not going for coverage, just enough to create the effect. As I said in the video, this is just one example. The overspray becomes more prevalent when using other other colors for a ground coat as seen in other videos😎

I'm wanting to do a PS4 controller. Any tips on the sides (where it curves)? Or is it just the way it turns out? Also I want the bubbles to look like they are floating upwards. Any advice or tips on that? Thanks

The air brush method might be easier since it is a small project. Might want to watch "How to paint water drops and airbrush lowrider style panel graphics" video from time warp custom.

And the over spray shows. What if you just spray the water onto a wet solvent surface?
@inthehomeshop2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewheneks9220 the overspray is what helps create the effect. I've never done it with waterborne. Like anything, there's 1000 ways to do something. It's paint! Enjoy it😎
