How To Custom Paint Your PC!

I didn't like the look of the stock black Node 202, so I grabbed some spray paint and went to work. This was a week-long process and it turned out beautiful!

Hey, Barry I also had a node 202 case, it was a great case but my GPU ran a bit hot. My solution/ recommendation was to get 3-4 Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM fans (40x10mm) and install them on the top vent. I was immediately able to tell a difference. The GPU didn't have to ramp down its speed and overall the card ran cooler. The fans screw right into the vent slots and used a fan splitter to manage the cables.

@@BulletBarry Hi, I have an ASUS Dual RTX 3070, with dual fans. I thought about setting up on the side panel like you but, had doubts about clearance with the extra fans and video card. Also, the additional intake of cool/clean air would be redundant.

@@TheluckyGuy0 hmmm, you can get low profile 120mm fans to help pull air away from the card. there are also 3d print mods to keep them from making contact with the gpu

Ah, the PS5. You inspired me to build my own PS5 with that same Silverstone case, R5 1600 16GB RAM GTX 970 500GB M.2, etc. It was my first PC build with new parts, I had to rebuild it many times before I figured out the best way to install everything so it wasn't a complete rats nest. I put some RGB light strips shining on the GPU and motherboard areas and it looked really cool! I didn't use that case for long though, everything ran way too hot for my liking. I originally used a Cryorig C7 cooler, but it was wildly insufficient, so I removed the facia from the stock cooler so it fit right against the side panel and it helped a little. It's always really cool to see case mods like this, especially if a ton of care and attention was put into it :P The blue and white color scheme looks great! It really transforms the case into something else. It's just a shame the HTPC form factor tends to run hot unless you put a lot of thought into everything.

I remember you saying you did something to the case to make it less bland last video but the video left of with the case still being black so i was confused, now I see what you were talking about. I got a different white fractal design case last year that I also ended up using some pray paint on since the front metal mesh that lets the air through was not white but black. It turned out great, its always nice to personalize your own stuff.

hey Barry just a couple of questions: 1) are you still into gaming or have your travels affected it And 2) have you found a way to place comments in 1 spot? I remember that was an issue about 5 years ago. And there is a dash for comments on yt studio that solves your comments problem if you ever saw it.

Barry this looks great! I plan to do something similar and spray the same 2 removable parts a beige/light grey colour to give the pc a retro look but in a case that has a sleak modern design, along with beige mouse and keyboard and maybe eventually i'll spray a monitor to go with it too. To get it smooth what grit sandpaper do you recommend?

it's nice the work you put into and the time. Hard work and craftsmanship is always appreciated. But i'm sorry, to me, you should have just bought a better/bigger case. The amount you spent on sprays probably would have bought you a decent gaming case with greater airflow. i know rustoleum paints are expensive as hell. All the aesthetics in the world ain't worth it if your expensive cpu, motherboard and gpu is running like a toaster in there. Anyway good job, you did what you wanted and it came out neat :)

I want to use a Gigabyte Aurous Elite where the upper PCIE is 4.0 x16, the others 3.0 x4 and x1. So i need a more far a way PCIE is that possible with this Case? The PCIE Riser looks very short and stare/ unflexible.
