Extremely useful, thank you! I have a rebate plane but it's a vintage one and needs a lot of work before I can use it, but I wanted to make some box floors and lids in the meantime.

I've definitely found this technique useful a few times. It's also a good way to build confidence using a chisel. Good luck with your rebate plane restoration.

There's no debate, that's a rebate. Cut with a chisel, not with a bristle.
