For anyone wanting a brief explanation: in 3D, three objects can always be coplanar (the plane is the slice). This also means the center of mass of each object can share a plane. So when you slice through the plane that contains the center of mass of all three objects, you will bisect all three objects.

Depends on wether you want the center based on volume, or center based on mass. As mass can be lob-sided. (imagine tossing a steel ball into a larger clay ball. The steel ball is stuck in the side of the clay ball, and not the center of the volume of the clay ball. Making the weight un-even) If we cut based on mass. The cut will go through the center of gravity. Make the object spin on it's own. The center of mass is somewhere along the axis it's spinning on. Just cut along that axis, and you'll have 2 pieces of equal weight.

thou's making shape assumptions. what if i have an l-shaped piece of cheese? if we put it as a swuare from 0, 0 to 1,1 missing the corner quarter, its center of mass is at 5/12, 5/12, while the horizontal and vertical cuts meet with the m=1 [up-right] cut at 3/8, 3/8 and the m=-1 [down-right] cut crosses at sqrt(3)/4, sqrt(3)/4. not all shapes play nice like spheres do.

Basically, 3 item in 3D space, 4 in 4D space and so on. If its 2 item, its a line. If its 3 item, its a surface/plane And since its cutting the mass, even if the object is just 5 meters from 2 other object, their mass could still be sliced in half.

To cut stg in half, you have to cut through its center of gravity. Since there are 3 elements, you have 3 centers. There is always one plane that goes through 3 points. So there is always a perfect cut

So yes the way this works is a plane in 3d space can always be created with any 3 points of those 3 points are the middle of your 3 ingredients( depending on how you want to define midpoint center of mass or whatever) all 3 will be cut along the midpoint and therfore in half.
