Hey, Joe & Logan, enjoying your craft. I'm building a fiberglass kit car. Needing to do some fab work and found your Channel to be very comprehensive. Never having done any fiberglass construction can be daunting. You're making dreams happen air,land, or sea.

As always fantastic content, I also use a 5 inch DeWalt circular saw with a fine tooth wood cutting blade installed backwards and love using my DeWalt cordless multi type tool with a square blade super accurate and fast especially for tight fitment on corners, even the Dremel can be used if that's all you have 😀again great content is hard to find and by watching everything I've accomplished many different projects saving omg lot's of money thanks

Nice summary. Thanks. My winter project is replacing teak decks with "Ipe" wood on my trawler. Using Teak Decking System epoxy "glue." Super fun project.

Thanks! Sounds like you have an interesting project going there! I always thought that I would like to have a live aboard trawler one day. My brother used to have an older Grand Banks, that was a great boat for our area. I wish you all the best,and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!

Hi Joe. Very good video on the variety of tools for getting cuttting and surface prep done. This is a little outside of the scope of this level of surfac prep.I have found the Dremel is a pretty good tool for repairing Gelcoat cracking when doing small area repairs.

I have to first say how much I appreciate your channel. I've had great success with fiberglass projects on my sailboat because of you and your presentation. The person behind the camera deserves recognition as well. I'd like to build a curved hard dodger and would like to know if there are cost effective core materials out there that would add thickness to sheets without using a boat load (ha!) of glass. What do think about using 1/4" Clear Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheet that folks use for greenhouses and such? Thanks from Oregon!

I'm glad to hear that the videos have been helpful with the work you are doing on your sailboat! There are some cost-effective options out there for core materials, and I have been considering doing a video along those lines for you all, so stay tuned, and thanks for watching from Oregon!

Been mechanicing for over 30 years and I used to buy the high dollar tools. And dont get me wrong they are good tools but for what you pay they are not worth it considering that the lower end tools like hercules from harbor freight have the same warranty and for some tools have a longer warranty. And to be honest i have more trouble with the higher name brand tools then I have had with harbor freight hercules brand. Plus sometimes getting it replacement of a Dewalt or boush or Milwaukee tools are a hassle. Hercules tools warranty is super easy. Now I will admit the Dewalt Milwaukee tools are just a little bit better and I mean a little, but to me that isnt worth the double and triple the money it cost versus the hercules. But remember it always your decision. Remember most diyers are on a budget. Just my 2 cents worth. Against MR Joe great video and helpful tips.

I was wondering when you put your stringer in your 29 footer what material did you use . I see alot of boats with fiberglass stringers maybe you can do a video of putting stringer in a boat. Thanks.

So can you explain what the difference between a fairing compound and a filler. Im guessing partical size, but are there other aspects. I have an 85 privateer that the stringers rotted out and want to build back better, and you are definitely giving me ideas thanks so much for all your doing to explain thus topic!

hello and thank you again… I wonder if you could talk about carbon fiber / Kevlar when they used alone and combined with fiberglass….. Thank you !

Another good video, what about a router with a carbide cutter or a suitable cutter that would work on fibreglass?
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 6 сағат бұрын
Thanks! Routers can work great with foam core materials or Coosa board, but I find that solid laminated fiberglass is very hard on bits, and dulls them quickly. I hope this helps, and I appreciate you watching and commenting!

I have some content in our boat building series for our 29 ft center console. I believe episode 11, and a couple more have some coosa board hatch building info. Our hardtop build series also walks you through all the steps of building a molded fiberglass part. I'm sure you will find the info you are looking for. I hope this helps, and I appreciate you watching!

@FishBumpTV lololol it stayed about 20 miles north of us but it was freezing though. Better you than me lol. I got in that last big storm up in St Louis a couple weeks ago and got stuck in front of this customer in 10 inches of snow. Next time I'm just taking the boat up the Mississippi.
