One thing I am still struggling with is fading the transition from top to sides. it looks simple but it isn't. Could you make a video focusing on the different techniques to achieve a smooth transition? I try doing scissors over comb but hairs don't flow through the comb when I move the comb up.

Hi Michael, I’ve cut my son’s hair a few times while watching this very helpful video. My son has stick straight, coarse, and unforgiving hair and no matter what I do, he ends up looking like he’s got a hat on, and I can’t blend the longer hair into the clipped hair. Any tips on how to blend his hair better? Thank you!
@theoneminutebarber Жыл бұрын
Straight hair is very tricky. Keeping the line of your clipper straight is key. Visualise going up a door frame. This is what you should do go straight up the side of the head in a straight trajectory as if carrying on to the ceiling.
@nrs3373 Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I’ll try that. If you ever have a client with straight hair, I’d love to see how you cut the hair. But I LOVE this haircut, it’s the only one I give my 9 year old. So thank you for this video!

@8:42 You cut the guide hair at the crown perpendicularly (instead of elevating your finger to a horizontal position which would increase the hair length toward the back). Was that because Hugo's haircut was long enough to not need that horizontal finger position? In your other crown video, you noted horizontal finger position prevents the crown hair from being too short and sticking up. Thank you! 😃
@theoneminutebarber Жыл бұрын
Well noticed. Hugo's crown naturally lays flat without any help, so I can get away with cutting at 90° to the curve. It's the same with curly hair which recoils so you don't need the extra length to weigh it down.
