Great video! I've never had great results cutting cement board with a circular saw, as .42" hardiebacker destroys the blades very quickly, and detailed cuts aren't feasible. In addition to the health hazard created by the silica, dust clouds from cutting with the grinder can cover landscaping and cars. I do need to invest in a snapper shear!

I have used the Pactool Snapper Shear Pro, but it’s only good for 1/4 inch Hardie Backer Board. When cutting 1/2 inch Hardie board, it just wouldn’t go straight (the jar isn’t big enough to cut fully). Are you using 1/4 inch board fro the demonstration???

I know all those tools but I don't even know what Hardy backer is. Haha. Guess it's not on boats or I'd know about it. Things not on yachts: Tiles, concrete/ cement and Laurel and Hardy backer. But I have a house now so I'm learning quick. I tiled the concrete floor in my back room by watching your vids. The floor had tar cutback adhesive from 40's linoleum flooring.. I removed with "Pure Citrus" air freshener from home despot .. And a bit of goof off solvent. I know every solvent and cleaner known to mankind, xylene, mek etc. funny how the Pure Citrus was the only really effective solvent. Orange can with white lid.. Don't buy the one next to it, it's cheaper but doesn't cut. Cleans white rubber on shoes too . wow that was a long shpeel

Ok, what are you doing different? Watched another video using the same snapper tool, and the guy said you can't cut curves and it also broke big chunks out at the start of each cut. But he still said it was the best tool for the job, he just may not actually know how to use it.
@NassrinsDIY4 жыл бұрын
I think the first ones they came out with only cut right angle curves.
@liquidrockaquatics39003 жыл бұрын
Granted this was nine months ago, but he probably didn’t have the shoe pressed against the material. That would cause the whole thing to bounce and kick around, and knock chunks out of everything. That will happen with almost any tool, but especially anything that oscillates like that

No, very dangerous! You would be inviting kickback, which can harm the operator severely. The last tool she used was the safest and therefore worth the cost vs. hospital bill, disability or burial. Be safe. Accidents happen unexpectedly, quickly, and indiscriminately to the novice or highly skilled. Use tools that minimize your risk of injury. Missing fingers or other injuries will impact you for the rest of your life... maybe even you being able to do what you love. Thank you Nassrin for introducing this safe tool alternative!
