Nobody in town knows how to cut my hair properly so I do my own, any tips for getting the back right?

Mirrors, mirrors, mirrors. I use one of the walmart door mirrors with the hooks, over my shower curtain rod to see the back of my head. Make sure you have plenty of time, don't rush. Watch a bunch of tutorials for the kind of haircut you want, and for your hair texture. Initially cut off less than you think, you can always go shorter but going longer can take some time. Last, if you end up not liking it, don't worry. Wear some braids, a hat, and take a trip to the hair dresser.

you can put gel or curly cream if you want but you don't have to. Her head is small and could use the volume.

Every "curly cut" experience I've ever had has shamed the idea of combing the hair straight before trimming. Doesn't the natural curl pattern disrupt the straight cuts? My curls always clump and dry in a way that makes this way of trimming appear jagged and untidy.

I've had every version of a Bob there is 🤷‍♀️🤣❗️. My husband has really wavy hair and my granddaughters have inherited it . My 4 year old granddaughter has ringlets right down to her bottom . Thank you. But this type of blow dry wont work on afro curly hair. It is ok for caucasian curly hair. For afro hair curly hair ( 3c), it will create way to much frizz and will look messy.
