Thank you, needed a video properly showing how to do that so even people who've never touched a sheet of glass can learn how to do it.

Thanks! I watched some of the 'swooshy glass cutters' cutting whole sheets and thought how scary that would be if you'd never cut a whole sheet of glass before. Glad you found it helpful.

Glass of course does not always break on the score line but most of the time does handled correctly. Great video.

Thank you for the video. Im still running into same problem though, when i score over 80cm or so, the wheel gets stuck or clogged half way, so i get inconsistent cuts.. what am i doing wrong? 😊

Is your cutter free of glass debris? And is the sheet glass clean? It sounds as if it's either picking up dust etc from the glass or that the small shards were already in the cutter wheel before you started.

Awesome tutorial. Many Thanks! Can ordinary pliers be used to open up the cut?
@everything-stained-glass3 жыл бұрын
Not for large sheets Edem. The cut runners are better as they have padded jaws and are slightly bent so press down on either side of the score without chipping it. You can use regular pliers for smaller pieces if you put the end of the pliers along the score line and gently snap it at one end of the score and then at the other. Good question, I hope I've explained it well enough!

Very good video. Do you not need oil on the glass or do you just do your tool?
@everything-stained-glass3 жыл бұрын
Some people use oil, others not. It's a personal preference. I use oil.

What did she dip tool into..
@everything-stained-glass3 жыл бұрын
Angela, it's cutting oil on a sponge. The oil can leak from the cutter barrels. Hope that helps.

Welp ruinrd a 100-150 year old huge pane trying the ball method. It took me a few hours to salvage that pane from a window. A very hard to find 39" window. This sucks. Would be nice to know how to tell when the cut was done right and it's ready to break.
