The best thing about your videos is, you take something that looks impossible, break it down, and make it possible for us at home. I have become more adventurous in the garage because of your videos. Thanks Tony!

Another great video watching you make this panel. I also have an english wheel so it was great watching you stretch the metal by moving it in the wheel in the middle section to get the crown. One can watch all the videos you want about using the english wheel, but until you actually do it like you said you won't get the feel for it. You did alot of explaining on how you actually made this panel and all the adjustments you made to it . A great video indeed. Thank you for sharing this with us. You are a fantastic teacher.

Your method of metal work should be taught too all beginning body persons. Not every body shop has all the fancy machines and you teach an older and more hands on than letting a machine do all the work. It may take longer but it sure looks great. I am learning a lot from your videos. Thank You Sir.

Practice on some sheet metal, once you figure out what wire your welder likes,burn some metal and have fun. I welded heavy structural steel for years, big stick welders running off Ford 300 straight 6 engines and when I started welding on my vehicle projects, I ruined so many panels 😂. It took me a while to get the hang of welding sheet metal but I got it. Good luck with your caddy, take your time and remember everything is fixable, and most importantly, have fun building it. Have a great day.

Excellent craftsmanship
@killboxmatchstick8035 Жыл бұрын
Always remember that anytime you’re using the wheel, you are stretching the metal. All that metal has to go somewhere, so shrinking those edges just make sense. I’ve also found that leaving straight edges on crowned panels causes problems. Keep the extra material, but cut it with a curve. It lays out slot easier. Great work!

Appreciate your amazing videos. Your strategies have helped me so much in my sheetmetal work. Currently doing rust repair on a mid 60’s Cadillac, and my uncle with 40 years of auto body experience stopped by. Hi Tony. Great tips. I know you say you're not an expert with the English wheel but you make it look easy putting a nice gentle crown on a panel. Its pretty amazing to me how you can create a panel from a flat piece of sheet metal, fit it up, weld it into place and have it look so good. I'm sure the years of experience is how that's possible. I struggle with making a replacement panel fit nicely when I bought it already formed to fit the vehicle. I'll keep practicing. Thanks for the video! -mike

You just happen to be wearing the same pullover hoody I purchased in a different color (Blue). I would prefer a zip-up version, but you can't have everything and it does keep me warm on windy days. The tips are always good and I watch every episode, so keep it up.
