Thank you! 😊 I appreciate the simplicity. I found a bunch of videos where people had miter saw set ups with a track. I don't have the room for that right now. I needed to know how to make this without all the extra stuff. I'm building storage shelving for a basement storage room and I'm going to need cut about 70 2x4s into pieces. Thank you for making this video.

Awesome! You are the best. I have watched several videos and your solutions were very practical. Also, they provide multiple options to attack the issue of multiple cuts. You are a genius! Thanks so much for sharing. Your tips will make my next project go considerably smoother.

Great tips. If you want a more accurate stop block, you may want to measure and mark the distance, then use a speed square to draw a complete line down the height fence. Clamp the stop block after you know it is parallel to the line.

I finally got equal lengths on multiple pieces of wood. Thank you! If anyone is cutting short lengths and using a non-sliding miter saw the clamp method can be difficult to pull off. I learned the hard way. One of the clamps kept getting in the way of the saw handle. It's better to use one of the other methods he has listed.

Your Video on "How to Cut Wood Pieces to Same Length" is a little Gem for beginner Miter saw users.. One of the best I've seen on You Tube... Crisp, clear and well made!.. Just one comment though: In your method / segment: "Cut all 4 pieces at once by clamping them together" and cutting them with One cut, you forgot to mention an important detail which confused me initially! It is only when i played the video again in slow motion, i realized what you had done to make the "clamping method" work properly...You had placed a block of wood (Fixed with screws?... Or just butted the block to the fence without screwing it to the fence?)... I saw that THIS little (but essential) detail, prevented the Clamps from interfering with the fence... Also i have one question: Will this also work as well with a FIXED (Non-Sliding) Miter saw? Again, . Thank you so much for the lesson.

Questions: 1. For the first method with the pattern do you mark it straight to length or do you make it a mite size smaller like by 1/16th for carpenter pencils? 2. Basically the same for the table saw method. Is it to full length or do you have to measure slightly more for the saw blade thickness? Thank you for your time and expertise.

Auxiliary fences move when they're held in place with a single clamp. You need at least two. Then they get in the way of your work. Same with a stop block. It moves. Or the top and bottom aren't on a 90 degree angle. You start shifting things and then you're screwed.
