Global Triathlon Network bike fitting and never let your fuel levels deplete.

Global Triathlon Network Best cycling advice I received was "Cadence is King". Know what cadence works for you in different conditions, monitor it frequently during all training rides & turbo-sessions until it becomes completely instinctive. I would even suggest forgetting about speed, HR & power data until you've got cadence sussed.

hands down never let your cadence below 90rpm when your cadence is over 100 rpm it doesn't feel like you are pushing on your pedals it feels more like your feet spinning around are applying pressure and not your quads

Can you please do more videos about tackling Olympic and Sprint distance Triathlons because that's the distances most people start out with. You keep referencing Ironman distances which isn't that helpful for a large number of triathlete. Thanks

In TT/tri bikes? Ouch. xD Now I have a mental image of Lasty trying exactly this, on the Canyon he used in the TdF Stage 1 preview on GCN, and Heather holding up warning signs -- and possibly having good laughs enough to add to a bloopers reel (subject: vital technique, *maybe* wrong bike).

Taylor Phinney is my hero. He doesn't ride with a power meter, according to his interview on GCN. I just can't afford one.

Hi guys, Need help badly. New to cycling. 6 months training, but there are some weeks I can't get training due to life and other commitments. Did my first triathlon a few Weeks ago, Olympic distance. I've a big problem where by 30kms in, I'm feeling completly out of energy. Legs have no energy, and I feel like I'd love to slump onto the handlebars. It's not that I'm going too fast ( I'm reaching 20kmh in distance) Today, this happened at around the 28- 30km mark. For breakfast, I had a big bowl of porridge with a banana thrown into it. Also before that, I had two small pancakes, with butter and jam. While on the bike, I had water with orange juice through it. Why am I hitting the wall so early?? Its not that I'm underfuelled, I'm not dehydrated either. I'm 6ft 2 @ 100kg, so I know my weight right now isn't ideal for cycling, but surely I shouldn't be bonking this soon. Any advice or tips ??

Tri bike dismounts are great when done in one swift, fluid motion. Though, that and cyclocross dismounts share the same thing, except you don't carry your bike with you. What if triathletes were made to carry their bikes while dashing on the run section? :D ~wink wink~

Anyone not doing a flying dismount should be immediately DQed at T2. It takes about 5 minutes to learn. There are simply no excuses!
