@@DanceInsanity Swing and salsa. I know swing isn't Latin at all but it's probably my favorite style. And there are lots of salsa videos out there but the way you structure your videos is MUCH better than others I've seen. Also More Jive anything (jive is becoming my 2nd fav style). I love that you have technique videos too! Your Awesome 👍😊

@Ivory Lloyd jive is part of the swing family, so swing can count towards Latin too, we definitely think so! Are you social dancing or competing / shows or just learning for fun? Glad you're enjoying our videos. Will put "jive anything" into the hat for future videos! 😉

@@DanceInsanity lol right now is just for fun, I don't know if I'm on the level of competition but I would love to do on eventually though!

moffac01 that's awesome!! 👍🏼👍🏼

@@DanceInsanity Think of the sailor shuffle as a very quick "something out of a Samba whisk" type of movement. It is also a variant of the pas de bourree generally seen in jazz and ballet dancing.

I love your 5 Ways Videos! My favourite is the overturned version. From my knowledge, the origin of the saylor shuffle is in the pas de bourrée in ballet.

You sometimes mention social and competetive dancing. I find it quite hard to Jive for three to four minutes without loosing posture :D (OK, admitted, I fall apart after two minutes). How about some swing versions of some popular figures? Maybe that helps.
@DanceInsanity6 жыл бұрын
Malte Müller yes, jive is quite the workout. Good suggestion! Will add that to our idea list. 👍🏼 thanks! How long have you been dancing?
@markandreessen32186 жыл бұрын
Uh, for about 20 Years. I am a big fan of 10 dances. I love watching people dancing, wether it's social dancing or on a competetive level. Yes, singing and dancing does help make the world a better place. A bit. ;-)

For the right hand lead for American spin - touching the follower's humerus as a lead cue, in my opinion, is possible for extra umph in the spin. A tip - never touch the follower's booty with your RH to lead the spin if that jive partner is unsuspecting, especially in a social dance situation. The follower would strongly object, and that follower may not want to dance with you anymore. Only touch the booty on a partner or partners that you know.
