Thank you ! By hearing the demo track that showcase the bass in context, I would definitely be interested in how you made the drums (Sound selection then processing) and how you mixed the distorted bass and drums .That would be awesome. All the best for your channel .

Thanks for watching! Regarding the percussion - I literally threw 2 nice samples with no processing and used a sidechain compression on the bass. No layering, no equalization or saturation - the main goal was to make the bass, not the percussion :)

I can't apply the effects of your LFO setting to the perform mode. What I'm missing? I've tried to copy all your settings. There's a extra routing stuff that I'm missing? thanks and love your tutorials
@MarcinRajski-
@MarcinRajski- 2 жыл бұрын
What's exactly the problem? If you can't recreate the LFO curve, you have to access the drawing shapes. Just click on "Load Curve" option in the LFO window. I'm guessing this may be your problem. Cheers!

Thanks for the tutorial, being pretty much completely new to electronic music I've already learned a lot from just the first couple minutes of it. But then I come to distorting the first layer, copy all your settings from both massive and trash, but the result sounds vastly different? It's pretty much the same before distortion but as soon as I turn on trash something goes wrong? Also unrelated issue: to play the sound I just wrote in a long midi note of four bars in ableton and play it on loop, but everytime the note is re-triggered massive does a very weird loud click and then it's fine again, does anybody maybe know what that could be or how to get rid of it?

Hi! Maybe you have to adjust the input gain more accurately (more precisely, the volume of the layer before distortion). You can do this either with the Input fader inside of Trash or with the Master output volume knob in Massive synth. My guess is that the levels are a bit off (which also contributes to the character of distortion). Regarding that weird click: the reasons may be few, but I'd try at first increasing both Attack and Release in the volume envelope (4th envelope in Massive) and making sure the MIDI notes don't overlap. You can also try to change the voicing mode (in the OSC section) to Monophone.

I think it lacks a phase effect on your bass and maybe an EQ on the mid more acute side.

I tried to follow the tutorial by Serum and I stalled on the first layer and got really frustrated. I kinda attempt to perform the same actions as you but it sounds so much worse, it seems like even this basic saw-square waveform sounds very different. I can't get the same harmonics and phase/chorus eats up all the bass crunch and even low frequencies. Is it really just synths being too different or am I doing something wrong?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Well, with so much complex processing (well, today I'd do that bass in a MUCH simpler way :D) it'd be very difficult to remake the same sound in a different synth. Although I do have the same bassline patch for Serum too - that's because I already gave a lesson on Carpenter Brut music. Cheers!

@@MarcinRajski- No problem. I played a bit with the sound in serum and got it even better than I could imagine. It was just me being dumb and not paying enough attention to the details. Thanks for the tutorial

Bracie, na pewno jesteś świetny, ale nie wspomniałeś o routingu w samym syntezatorze, o tym, jak podłączone jest sprzężenie zwrotne dla subbasu i jak podłączone są wstawki dla pozostałych dwóch basów.
@MarcinRajski-
@MarcinRajski- 3 ай бұрын
Pozdro :)
